Well here is some very good news. It appears the more beatdowns Bob puts on Mack the more determined Mack is to stay at Texas.

Mack Brown is not leaving.

Not now. Not after 63-21.

"I'm way too competitive and have way too much pride to leave something bad," the Texas coach said. "I'm going to get this fixed."

did i miss Darrell Wyatt going to Austin???

it's crazy how we all forget about getting beat 4 out of 5 after our 5 in a row though.

Mack Brown has been pretty darn good at times down there.

he's been about perfect for us though. Texas being overrated is always good when we beat them :D

There will be another massive coaching staff shakeup on the horns staff in the offseason and they will go out and pay through the nose for another SEC defensive coordinator. This time I predict they will raid Alabama's or LSU's staff.

At least one source told me Brown had decided in the offseason to step down at the end of the 2010 season, but he changed his mind after his first losing season at Texas, worried that his legacy had been tarnished.

Muschamp was annoyed by the decision, sources close to the football program have said, and chose to leave what he thought was promised him: arguably the best coaching position in the country because of Texas' enormous resources, facilities and budget and the recruiting edge that is the Lone Star State.

Mack Brown has been pretty darn good at times down there.

There is a growing contingent on sa*et boards that is of the opinion Mack's genius had less to do with X's and O's or even choosing to let talented assistants do their job and more with stepping out of the way and allowing first Vince Young to essentially do whatever he wanted and later surrounding Colt McCoy with enough athletes to run a spread.

For those 4 wins, he needed two once in a lifetime qbs. QBs that most programs will never have...

His bad years are abysmal. I hope they keep him forever.

is this a similar syndrome to athletes not knowing when to retire??? i understand these coaches are at the top of their profession, and pride is a factor, but clearly there has to be a time when the "self" realizes that the game has past them by. paterno should've retired 10 years ago; bobby bowden maybe 5-7 years ago. tom osborne seemed to retire at the right time, and maybe others should learn from it. hell, even spurrier's time might be coming to a close.

all that being said, i hope mack stays forever.

Read Tramel's article today. Texas hasn't smashed us except for '05 when they were clearly better. We've murderized some better than average Horn teams.

Anyone think Mack's quote the day before the game was weird : " It's a feel game. Someone's gonna feel good and someone's gonna feel bad after it."

When the ABC crew quoted that I was thinking already that Mack is ready for the home.

Here's to 15 more years....
