Their D just got weaker. Tore his left peck

Junior defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat suffered a right pectoral muscle rupture against Oklahoma and will have to undergo surgery to repair the damage, according to Texas trainer Kenny Boyd. Jeffcoat has been ruled out for the season.

Hate to hear about anyone getting injured

Wow what a disappointment for the whorns. Kid is huge and has a ton of potential. Best of luck to his recovery.

That's a real bummer. He may have played his last down for UT.

Like the whorns said on their boards, I'm sure the NFL teams will be lining up to take a guy with a history of back issues and coming off a torn pec. He's be better served coming back I would think.

He doesn't need a redshirt as he is a junior this year. His issue is whether to declare for next year's draft or come back for his senior year. If the horns stay in turmoil and make big changes in the coaching staff, my guess is he bolts. The pros know what kind of beast he is and he would get a high pick as long as his recovery is on schedule.

Jeffcoat has thrown a few cheap shots our players' ways in past RRS... but losing to us probably sucks.

His twin sister till recently was a member of the Sherri Sooners (OU womens basketball team). Alas, she had mono and injury issues and never really worked her way into the regular rotation, so she transferred out.

And thank goodness he did. His PF flag that bailed us out of a 3rd and long was a critical play in the '10 game.
