I don't think that either lost. I don't think that either won, so I voted "tie."

Biden was a condescending old fart prick that might as well have been yelling "Get off my lawn... friend" whle Ryan looked like the smug guy who you wish there weren't laws on the books that disallowed you from punching him without recourse.

Smug. Condescending.

Grin. Smug.

"Friend."

One News Pole i saw earlier had Ryan winning it by about a 10% margin

I said Biden, but I could have easily said neither. They did what they were supposed to do which was to provide a distraction. How do people feel that Ryan came off looking as a potential 2016 Presidential contender (if Romney were to lose that is)?

A number of folks have commented about "friend". Where that stems
from is Congressional discourse....in the House...would the gentleman
yield his time? Would the gentlelady(woman) yield her time? In the
Senate...my close friend (across the aisle) or my good friend...

Now, having said all that, it WAS annoying to hear Biden say it over
and over..

I saw 6%. However the spot poll on independents fell heavily for Biden. If true then Biden did a very good job.

I thought in terms of concepts and specifics, Biden blew Ryan clear out of the water. I don't vote for folks based on their mannerisms. If I did, I'd be voting for neither. Biden's very genuine and every time he heard what were clearly rehearsed lines or Ryan being evasive or flat out lying, he started laughing. I'm not going to get too upset over that.

If you say it outside of the Senate... you've been in the Senate for too long.

I just wikipedia'd it --- 73-09. 36 years. That's waaaay longer than someone should spend representing... friend.

I watched the debate..twice..and felt that Biden edged out as the
winner. I googled who won, though, and most thought that Ryan did.
USA Today ran a fact check piece and, for the most part, supported
Biden so I don't know. I think that Biden most likely got the base
back "up" and Ryan "did no harm" to the ticket.

Yep, he was there for a long time, but that pales to some there now
or have been there...Thurmond and Byrd come to mind.

The "second" time I watched the debate was CNN and its replay. CNN
used an independent focus group that was monitoring the debate. The
Indies appeared more positive to Biden than Ryan.
