We beat ourselves in that game. Take back just one of those self-induced mistakes and it's the difference in the score. But it was a great way to figure out what we were doing wrong and fix things.

This team's biggest weakness isn't Jones (though he isn't much of a strength either). It is that they are super soft up the middle like this team has been for the last 5 years. Not far behind that is that Stills only puts effort into about 5 routes a game.

1. He and the OL make contact at 2 yards from the LOS instead of 5. This clogs up the running lanes more than getting deeper.
2. When he and the OL hit, he got pushed back 1 out 5 times compared with 5 out of 5 for Wort
3. He disengaged from the OL and went and made a tackle outside. The guy gained 7 but he would have had 20 had it not been for Shannon's tackle.
4. He doesn't stand behind the pile on the outside pitches, he diagnoses and then tries to drive through the pile to the ball carrier. He got a leg on one sweep that was finished off by Marquis Anderson
5. He and PL Lindley are pretty good on that one edge. Lindley is just quick as all get out.

There are some things the team still needs to work on and improve. But the game today was a very good one. From the players execution to coaching adjustments and game plan, I saw a much better team today.

And as usual the tech fans were just nasty and classless. I had my 4 year old little boy with me and got cussed out multiple times. It was a long walk back to the truck.

That's just pathetic but I'm glad you and your son got to see the big win. I also gave you some spek in the Lubbock thread for staying there to be with your kid. I've got two myself and I have great respect for good dads!
