My bro in law and his cousin flew in that B-29 on Sunday here in Tulsa. Cost them a cool quid.

I see they repainted Fifi's name from black to blue. Saw it Love Field in '95.

I saw a B17 fly over on Tuesday. Actually, I heard it first. Nothing quite sounds like a B17.

It was painted in 8th Air Force green and was....lovely.

Absolutely love the look of the P-51. No other aircraft like it in the history of aviation. Beautiful.

Working at the Airport all of these years allowed me to see some really cool aircraft. I am always reminded of a few of us kids back in elementary school bringing these books to school that had pictures and stats and a bit of history about Aircraft and all of the different ones that were manufactured by all of the different Countries. I do think it's why I quit Medical School and went into Accounting, ended up working for an airline and then ended up working on planes. I know most folks take getting on a plane as something you can just buy a ticket to do but in the early days it was a thing where the privileged flew and the Flight Attendants were Stewardesses (all pretty women) and folks dressed up when they flew. They had really nice luggage and smoked on the planes and as the airlines matured they had on-board entertainment that has eventually just been carried on individually now where you are required to turn off your devices until the Captain says you can turn them back on.

They were beautiful times and the stories people had from their journeys were interesting and not common place as they are now. A very cool time in America for sure and really later when TWA and Pan American came around....The World.

The B-17 and B-52 are unique like that. To me, those are about the only two airplanes I can identify on sound alone.
