How many healthy offensive linemen 'starters' do we have who were actually recruited as offensive lineman? :pop:

Here are all the Offensive linemen: (Starter, Recruited as OL)
Austin Woods
John-Phillio Hughes
Nila Kasitati
Ty Darlington
Nathan Hughes(recruited as a DE)Gabe Ikard(recruited as a TE)Robert Hollis(walk-on)
Lane Johnson (Recruited as a TE)
Tyrus Thompson
Derek Farniok
Dylan Hartsook (Walk-on)
Adam Shead
Tyler Evans
Jake Reed (walk-on)
Kyle Marrs
Daryl Williams
Bronson Irwin
Only two of the starters were recruited for something other than OL. Both of which were recruited as tight ends.
3 walk-ons and a guy converted from DL to OL. Everyone else were recruited as OL.

The last five years have been horrible as far as losing OL to transfer, dismissal or quitting.

Only two?
Yeah, only two.it would be only one if Ben Habern didn't retire from football.
But I wouldn't act as if its a crisis with those two. They both were recruited as TEs and TEs are glorified OL anyway.

It would still be two if Habern hadn't retired and Evans hadn't been hurt. The lineup at that point would have been Johnson-Ikard-Habern-Evans-Williams. (Johnson & Ikard still in.) Shead first off the bench, Thompson second, Irwin third. Better a testament to how good those two guys are rather than the position the were originally recruited for. That is... they seem to have found their fit, and a good one, where they are. JMO...
