What's next? Spirit awards on the stadium?

The last time A&M finished in the top 5 of either poll, Bud Wilkinson was winning the last of his 3 titles. They've got a lot of tradition; it just doesn't include NC's (at least on this side of WWII).

They just need to man up and pull them back down, like Texas did, and hope everyone will forget.

I guess that's one bright spot for this season--at least we aren't pulling crap like this.

If you count oddball cheers and Gomer Pyle reach-arounds then yes, they have hella tradition.

They've got a lot of tradition
- A bonfire that got discontinued for safety reasons
- A 12th man that never entered the game
- A five-star general... that is actually a border collie
- Cheerleaders... that are a highly coveted honor to be able to dress like male hospital orderlies
- Bear Bryant... before he left to create a better legacy at Alabama
- A Heisman winner... widely recognized as one of the least deserving Heismans ever awarded
- A 1939 national championship... for beating TCU

:rcmad: <<<They fired this guy after he beat us. Why? Because we weren't Texas :mack:

Please note the lack of the word "good" in front of the word "tradition" in my previous post. :)

And all those dogs buried outside the stadium.

A&M is getting so much newspaper hype in the Houston Chronicle, it's unreal. It's almost if somebody is paying extra to have an article a day ran about aTm. All the way from the worn out SEC hype to the details about their new uniforms. You'd never know there's another team in Texas or another conference vs. SEC now. It's crazy. I guess aTm needs all the help it can get in building their new stadium, or whatever they decide to do....which seems up in the air. The whole operation seems like an ill conceived hype job.....talk is A&M held open Nov 17th as long as they could hoping the Longhorns would come around to deciding to play a game with them, & Dodds just shrugged & said "..we're scheduled...". Ags have made their bed, so now they need to just resolve that they're gonna have to sleep in it.

And all those dogs buried outside the stadium.

the fact that they say their field is a memorial therefore its disrespectful for other fans to cheer on the field. (anyone remember in 2000/2001 Season when some fans with an OU flag rushed the field after OUr Victory and the Cadets charged them like they were storming the beaches at Normandy)

I used to have the Aggies backs from a friendly rival standpoint.
While all the aforementioned traditions reach various level of stupidity and flat out goofiness, it makes for a pretty cool atmosphere and culture up there.

But these new claims of championships are flat out embarrassing for them. The influential alumnus from that school should be demanding that those be taken down.

I frankly pull for them to lose every game going forward
