I'm doing a presentation to eighty 9th graders in a few minutes. My warm up is The Birthday Problem, where I guarantee them two people have the same birthday. Last time is did this, in January, out of 73 students we had 6 pairs of students with the same birthday and 3 "triplets" - same day and same year. Just not the same parents.
Then I got to write a letter to Secretary Clinton with some suggestions.

I agree it's a great problem, but you need a more sophisticated audience for that so they are more likely to "intuitively" make the wrong conjecture. Ninth graders are probably as likely to guess correctly as they incorrectly on this.
