My first year at OU. Would have been in the student section for that game. Students had better seats then. Cecil was a great classic.

It didn't give a date on that photo, but here's the description at the OHS:

I was in the Pride, my freshman year, for this game. I ran into Cecil outside the stadium and it was the one and only time I ever got to see the Rocket. Good times back then!

Miss the days when CS was a fixture on Lindsey before the games! Good times. I may have been at that game. I t depends on how many parking spots I had sold in our driveway...

my dad and i used to walk to the games from where we lived on Imhoff. i thought it was insane to walk that far. but, really it was amazing. my dad had a sony pocket radio with the brooks/treps radio show in his pocket. no earbuds, weirdo. we'd talk about the game.

we get a couple sammies at amspachers, he'd get this magical thing i was later to understand called a beer out of the iced formerly cattle troughs out front.

it was beautiful. blue skies and all afternoon. smell of cheap stogies, old ladies with OU handbags. weird hairspray and perfumes. big hair.

and we'd walk past the Rocket and that crazy amazing bastard on the oval. and go see some option football and the Okie 5-2.

I met Cecil's daughter at an art show one time. She was cool.

May be old information for many, but there are a lot of really cool old photos and things you can purchase here (http://libraries.ou.edu/locations/docs/westhist/Football/index.htm). Sorry, only thumbnails for viewing.
