They have a problem with anything that has the name "Obama" on it. They are a dying breed fortunately.

No. WE have a problem with an administration that is chopping away at our individual liberties, freedom, and rights.

Not our "government" that consists of three branches. Just one branch is doing things to chip away at our constitutional rights. At his whim. Anyone that cannot relate this sort of maneuver to similar things that have happened in history has their head in the sand.

Bingo. Yet another executive order. Not voted on by anyone in congress. Not even debated in congress. Just done by administrative fiat.

If it's a great idea, fine. Have congress pass a law. This guy does things one way. His way.

Well, I guess another thing a Romney Presidency can hopefully do, is start undoing all of these executive orders. Whoops, wrong thread.

These sort of things are training us to acquiesce to the government doing things "for our own good".

"If even one life is saved, then giving up a little freedom is okay." This statement on the surface makes sense, but little by little, we're soon living like they do in Singapore where you can't chew gum because it might end up on the street. Better for the collective.

If we are going to live by pithy sayings perhaps a better one might be, "Freedom isn't free", and pay the price every now and then for personal freedoms. Better to step in gum occasionally than be banned from chewing it.

Is world's away from granting amnesty to one million illegal aliens.

Yeah, executive orders have been going on for too long. Bush abused them and now Obama is abusing them. Just more reasons to stop them.

It's the executive branch trying to assert legislative powers and doing so is overstepping their authority.

BTW: Listing them all is a little douchy.

Using Bush as if most conservatives would defend him, is just not living in realville.

No one has ever mistaken a Bush for a conservative.

Thanks for the list though marfa.

Now please show me some of his that were anything close to the illegals one, the cancelling work requirements for welfare, and this one.

I glanced at them and saw a lot of non-serious stuff. My eyes went crossed a little ways down though, admittedly.

Really? I remember you guys all riding around town with those black "W" stickers all over everything. Y'all loved that guy.
When it became apparent he was a complete tool, the stickers started disappearing. Now it's Mitt, although I don't see nearly as many Mitt supporters. Conservatives aren't really behind him, either, but he's all you've got. You know your support is lukewarm. You probably fear the debates and for good reason.
Look, I don't like too much executive power any more than you do. But let's not act like Obama's use is something new and unparalleled.

No. WE have a problem with an administration that is chopping away at our individual liberties, freedom, and rights.

Hmm, and the previous administration did much, much more than this, and it still continues. Can we say Homeland Security and the infringement of our rights that happened on your watch.

We'll carry on the debate tomorrow.Obama is outlaw, bypassing congress on very important matters that should be their purview, to be dealt with as the laws provide. YOU KNOW THAT AS WELL AS ANYONE, BUT WON'T STOP BACKING HIS ILLEGAL SELF. You will vote for him, and all the other outlaw democrats running for whatever office. End of discussion, unless you have changed your mind about something.

ok, I "glanced" at those...ugh...bifocals didn't help.

I agree both presidents have abused the exe order. BUT, I saw a lot of junk that dealt with other countries...saving the striped bass...governmental days off, etc.

On snopes MOST of the executive orders have been in place for years...Kennedy, Nixon, etc..and the presidents now just re-up them.

I still think obama has an agenda like no other and it scares the $%#^ out of me.

It's hard to know on whose side Romney is. He is on the GOP side today, because it suits him. Romney is a charlatan, a heartless robot who wants to be crowned president because that's the one mountain he has yet to climb. Dems and most people who voted for Obama would agree he doesn't deserve to be re-elected, but Romney deserves the presidency even less than Obama.

YOU KNOW THAT AS WELL AS ANYONE, BUT WON'T STOP BACKING HIS ILLEGAL SELF. You will vote for him, and all the other outlaw democrats running for whatever office. End of discussion, unless you have changed your mind about something.

Take a civics class, read books. The Chief Executive dictating to executive agencies how they will behave and/or enforce laws is purely within the discretion of the executive. Congress can always step in and limit the power of the executive, but until that happens, there's nothing illegal about this at all.

they are stuck on their belief in a moral equivalence between capitalism and collectivism/govt. control of ehe economy...go figure!

"Moral" equivalence? IAW Ayn Rand, there are no morals. IAW the New Testament, there is a preference for collectivism if anything. The early Christians lived in commune-like groups. IAW the Constitution, there is no prescription for the economic system. The founding fathers were not collectivists, but neither were they capitalists. What source of moral teaching tells you that capitalism >> collectivism?

All economies are mixed. I agree with most everyone here that the proper balance is way more towards the private enterprise side - I just don't pretend that's a moral issue.

"He who does not work, neither shall he eat." Doesn't disqualify socialism (although it certainly disqualifies pre-1996 welfare).

Gosh I wish you hadn't have posted this. I'll pass on the Ayn Rand stuff because I haven't read her book. Have it, but haven't read it.

The NT however, I have read many many times in numerous translations. There is absolutely 100% no preference for collectivism in the NT. The early Christians did not live in commune-like groups at all. They lived just like everyone else, lest they be discovered. They gave tithes and offerings for the widows and orphans, but they worked just like everyone else.

Jesus was not concerned one whit about economics. His Kingdom is not of this world. He didn't care how you made money or if you even had any at all, only if it ruled your life or not. There are over 20 references to working in the NT. It never once condoned any sort of socialistic collectivist system. The apostles worked for their keep as they went throughout the world preaching the Gospel. They did not live off of tithes, offerings, or anything like modern day churches. I am not saying Jesus or the NT prefers capitalism, it doesn't. But it for sure doesn't have a preference for collectivism. Trying to ascribe any materialism of any kind to the NT or Jesus is completely missing the boat.

The Founding Fathers were ALL capitalists. Every single one of them owned a business, some big, some small. They were ALL about the freedom of running their businesses as THEY saw fit. John Hancock was the richest man in Massachusetts. Alexander Hamilton ran a huge shipping company at a very young age, like around 13 years old. Our Constitution may not name a type of economic system, but there is no doubt which they preferred and which we established from the get go and it wasn't any form of collectivism. Read my signature for what a major founding father thought of redistributionist attitudes.

All economies are a mixture. I agree here. It is all about degrees. Democrats are for a higher degree of socialistic type governmental controls. More redistribution, more social engineering, more central control.

We conservative types are for far less governmental control, less redistribution, less social engineering and less central control and more to the states.

"He who does not work, neither shall he eat." for sure doesn't disqualify socialism, because it and the NT simply aren't concerned with economics at all. The verse however, isn't ambiguous about what it expects from a responsible adult.

What RLIMC said for me at least, is true. I believe there is no moral equivalency to the freedom of capitalism vs the bigotry of low expectations and slavery of collectivism. Not because the NT says it, but because I see it in the real world. Liberals will disagree.

Maybe YOU don't understand the meaning of the word:

am·nes·ty
   [am-nuh-stee] Show IPA noun, plural am·nes·ties, verb, am·nes·tied, am·nes·ty·ing.
noun
1.
a general pardon for offenses, especially political offenses, against a government, often granted before any trial or conviction.
2.
Law . an act of forgiveness for past offenses, especially to a class of persons as a whole.
3.
a forgetting or overlooking of any past offense

Funny you should mention Nazis. I have been giving examples to people how the things that are happening now are similar to things that happened in Germany. Examples where the country gave up liberties and rights "for the common good" that seemed acceptable at the time.

People should look at history to educate themselves as to what can happen here and now.

Here's a good experiment, since you are such a science person.

You go out and hire all of the very best explorers, hunters, and trackers in the world. Take them and go hunt for snipes, look for Bigfoot, search for Nessie, seek out Yeti, and try to find space aliens.

Then go out and hire the very best scientists in the world, as many of 'em as you want, and have them do nothing but try and disprove the existence of God.

Get back to me in about a century. You stand a far better chance of finding any of the former than you ever will the latter.

Your mythology statement says nothing about God, Christianity, or Christians. It does, however, speak volumes about you, your lack of wisdom, and your inclination to insult.

First off, you made the accusation that our faith is a mythology. That puts the onus of proof on you smart person. Except you know you can't back up what you say.

I, however, have a ton of circumstantial evidence to prove not only the existence of God, but the existence of the God of the Holy Bible. Since there were no eye witnesses to the events, circumstantial evidence is the best anyone can do. But it is good enough that in court rooms every day people are convicted on it alone.

Einstein saw the Law of Entropy (the Second Law of Thermodynamics) as a huge problem for he and his fellow atheist/agnostics. He knew the conclusion of it was a beginning to the universe. Hence, a time and place in ancient history where all things began (space, time, and matter). The Holy Bible itself even describes that law to a T. Those silly bronze age superstitious folks.

"In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded. But you remain the same, and your years will never end" (Psalm 102:25-27).

eh, lucky guess, huh. Even though no one speculated that the world or indeed the universe was aging back then. Indeed, they didn't even know there was a universe. Well, except for the Bible telling them there was.

There are about 9 references in the Bible to the universe expanding. Edwin Hubble didn't discover this as true until 1929. Those bronze age ignoramuses.

Until the invention of the telescope, the number of stars in the sky was somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,050-1,080 depending on which ancient text you choose.

Well, except that those bronze age weirdos knew the number of stars was as countless as the sand on the beach.

"countless as the stars of the sky and measureless as the sand on the seashore" (Jer. 33:22)

I mean how can we believe anything those flat Earther's thought about things. Right?

"He (God) sits enthroned above the circle of the earth and its people are like grasshoppers" (Isaiah 40:22 NIV)

Whoops, they knew it was round? Wow. BTW, the word for circle here is "khoog" it means roundness as much as it means circle.

As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. (Psalm 103: 12)

You mean they knew which way the Earth rotated on it's axis too?! Get outta here! Those guys were just superstitious bronze age racists homophobes!

Incedently, one of our satellites has discovered a strong radiation footprint in where they believe is the center of the universe. This footprint is very similar to the radiation (heat) left from an explosion here on Earth. Implying a, oh I don't know, something like, a Big Bang.

Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. (Genesis 1:3)

Well, those bronze age superstitious ones are REALLY lucky in all of those guesses, huh. Except that I could spend the next two hours typing out similar things on a variety of topics related to proof of the Almighty.

The best you can and ever will do is what man has been trying to do for almost his whole existence. Try and convince himself that he is his own god, by trying to convince himself that the one true God doesn't exist.

Good luck with that mythology.

The burden of proof lies on the believer, if I were to claim the FSM as my deity, it would be my burden to produce evidence to support the existence of his holy noodleage.

How do these verse line up with the ones you posted.

Isaiah 11:12
12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH.
You mean its square?

Job 38:13
13 That it might take hold of the ENDS OF THE EARTH, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?
Don't know a lot of spheres with ends

1 Chronicles 16:30
Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.
World isn't moving after all

Guess some of those bronze age superstitious folk weren't so lucky with their guesses.
