We love him very much but the Wife is ready to replace some furniture that he's used to laying on. I know that I'm never going to be able to train him to stay off the Couch as he likes to climb up on it and look out the Window to see who is out front sometimes.

Anyway I had the idea to put boots on him when he's inside so at least his nails didn't tear up the leather. The Wife found this and started really laughing. I think he's going to get boots even if we don't buy furniture now. :D

I posted a 17 second youtube of my goofy little dog, Bennie, and his first boots. I had to bribe him with a treat to walk to me. :D

When we got new furniture in the living room, the only thing my husband said was that the dogs had to stay off of it. We only had to tell them a couple of times to get off the furniture, before it was no longer an issue.

We have a very large L-shaped leather sofa at the lake, which we let the dogs and cats on. I actually worry more about the cat claws than the dog's nails.

That's awesome JK. I do want to have a mate for him but we just can't right now. We'd probably have a huge litter and then I'd want to keep them all.

Best dog we have ever had.

No cats here. I wish it would be as easy as that but he gets up on the couch and has had his way for 5-6 years now. He's spoiled as hell. He sleeps right next to me on the floor of my bedroom. Sometimes if I don't put his water bowl up after I let him out for the night, he'll put his cold nose on my arm and try to wake me up to let him out at 3 or 4 in he morning. If that doesn't work...he'll bark and startle me. I'll then get up and let him out and leave him there until I hear him barking at the back door. I think if I gave him a garage door opener he would leave and go do his business and then come back in and close the garage door and put the opener back on my dresser.....lol
