Not that there is anything wrong with that.

OU-Kansas State Kickoff Set on FOX - 10:22 a.m.
The Big 12 Conference announced on Monday that the University of Oklahoma football home game against Kansas State on Sept. 22 will be broadcast by FOX Sports. The FOX pregame show is slated to begin at 6 p.m. CT with kickoff slated for 6:50 p.m. Gus Johnson will handle the play-by-play duties for the game with analysis from Charles Davis, while Julie Alexandria reports from the sidelines.

Erin Andrews, Eddie George and Joey Harrington will host FOX College Football Saturday from the studio at 6 p.m. CT before Oklahoma and Kansas State open Big 12 play.

The 93rd meeting between the Sooners and Wildcats will take place at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, with Oklahoma holding a 71-17-4 record all-time against Kansas State. The Sooners defeated the Wildcats 58-17 in Manhattan, Kan., last season. Oklahoma is currently tied for No. 5 in the latest AP poll. Kansas State is ranked No. 15 and faces North Texas on Sept. 15 before visiting Norman.

Wow. A top-15 matchup, first conference game for either team, and we get Fox. How the heck did that not land on ABC/ESPN?

Murdock has Andrews and Georges phones tapped and he wants to see if they will meet for a secret rendezvous? :D ;)

Yes, it is a national broadcast so it should be available in every city on free TV.

Okay, so I realize that 6:50 is considered a "late game" but I can't believe that some of us are bitching about this!

C'mon guys, its a nationally televised game in September and the time is going to be perfect. Plenty of time for those who aren't fortunate enough to have every weekend off to be able to watch the game, plenty of time to watch a whole lot of other games during the day, time to get your eat and drink on, and the heat won't really be a factor for those lucky enough to be going. It should be great!

I always prefer late games. I can spend the day getting things done, and watching other games...then end my night with the Sooners. Perfect!

The game starts at 4:50 out here. which is usually a pretty nice time for a game to start. Unfortunately, my "problem" is that my son plays high school football and his home games are always on Saturday at 7 p.m. He has a home game that day. I will have to DVR the second half and try like hell not to hear a result during the game. Or, more likely, I will fail miserably in that effort and I will do what I always do and listen to the game on my phone on the college football radio app while watching my son and then watch the end of it when I get home.

I think there needs to be a forum poll before assuming most people here consider 6:50pm a 'late' game. Prime time doesn't start until 7pm so how can 6:50pm be considered late?
(cough) unless (cough) the (cough) average age (cough) of this forum (cough) is 70.

Should be interesting. I worry though. That network always Fox up sporting events by over-doing it. Remember the BCS? Ugh...

"If you spend FIVE MINUTES around Tim Tebow, you're a better person for it."

Hey, can we hear about American Idol one more time?

The broadcast starts at 6:00 P.M. What are they going to do for 50 minutes? Rehash all the day's games? Interview all Bill Snyder's ex-assistant coaches? Examine all Stills tatoos?

Fox sports coverage is all you need to know. There will be 15 minutes devoted to the new Fox Fall shows, advertising a'plenty, in-depth analysis of something that no one really cares about (like mama Tebow's doctor recommending she abort St. Timmah), talk about what went on around the country in CFB scores and news, and they'll make sure to have some kind of over-the-top thing that only Fox can imagine is football-related (like a robot football player or a Super Bowl Red Carpet Show).

I'd bet whatever vCash I have that their pregame BS actually goes over the allotted time.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willie_nelson

Did you realize Willie Nelson is 79 years old! I bet he has no problem staying up late to watch a football game or smoke a joint or five. Johnny Cash on the other hand was 71 when he died. He was one of those early to bed and early to rise type people.

I'm not young Vet, hence my Steve Owens avatar. Did you know that Hal Smith, the actor who played Otis The Town Drunk (according to Andy Griffith) never had an alcoholic drink in his entire life. He lived to the ripe old age of 77!
