What's interesting is that it's Oklahoma that probably got the bandwagon rolling with those types of players with the Selmon brothers. They'd be smallish today, but in their time, they were the monsters of the midway. King and the freshman Phillips fit that mold.
But overall, there are more of them in the South, because we have a higher black population. They're just better. Bigger, faster and stronger. End of discussion.

It's a statistical fact. The population density of African-Americans or whatever term the respective person prefers to use is astronomically higher in the states representing the SEC than other states representing other conferences.
