They had a depth chart up in the summer last year, but I think it was more a list of players than a real depth chart. It will be up this week, the coaches are still working on the red-shirts.

They do not have to release one, nor does it matter, since a depth chart is about as fluid as water.

Take the depth chart for what you will, but Stoops probably doesn't even heed it, especially in gameday situations. I still remember watching him go off on D.J. Wolfe after he got burned against a Warsh receiver at home. It was really something to behold. Bob was furious personified. "YOU'RE FINISHED! YOU'RE THROUGH!" and he just kept coming back after leaving. It was yell... return to sideline... then return to DJ. YELL! Return to sideline. A third time... YELL!!!!!! Return to sideline for real this time. No letting up. I think I saw Wolfe in on special teams and nothing else after on that game. We probably still won like a billion to zero... I don't remember the actual score, just that victory was never in question.

The coaches met yesterday afternoon to discuss the red-shirts. Maybe they just make a list of who they think they want to red-shirt, maybe they play video games, I have no idea. I just know (from a journalist) that the coaches met yesterday for the sole reason of discussing red shirts.

Yes they do discuss it. But a red shirt isn't granted by the conferennce or NCAA until after the season.

The reason being is because any player can lose their red shirt status during any season.so if the player doesn't play then they get one. But all coaching staffs I know of will have a list and barring any weird circumstance won't play them.

I do know that, my point was that they could have delayed releasing the depth chart because they wanted to square away the red shirt business (I was just venturing a guess as to why the delay).

I would think there isn't much worse than having to burn a red shirt late in the year. Sometimes injuries force that.

Anyway, we have a depth chart...now we have to wait and see if it changes.
