What is the price of a human life?
What is more important, our children and their future, or money and convenience?

I am a Catholic from birth. So, I am qualified to field my opinion that Kathleen Sebelius is an example of the most EVIL, vile and repulsive type of Catholic that our progressive society can produce. I pray for her soul. But, she is the who will make the decisions that determine her souls' fate. Just listen to the thought perverted thought process in the video below.

What's the problem? Humans are no different from other species in that our we're subject to biological and geophysical limits. The planet or the continent, or even your bioregion, can't support unlimited birth rates. Neither can the economic system. The high population is made possible by industrial agriculture, which of course is made possible by overtaxing our aquifers and the petro-chemical industry. My point isn't comparing the birth rate in the U.S to other nations. In that comparison, you're correct. I'm saying it's high compared to what it should be. Even this rate is non-sustainable.

It's interesting, because a certain population is necessary to generate industrial production, a variety of art and literature and to maintain infrastructure. But we certainly don't need 6-7 billion to do that.
I'd go with the 1.5 billion number as long range sustainable and a number at which poverty could be largely eliminated for each and every person.
I've done my bit, keeping my personal procreation to one child. And it seems that I'm on the trending side: human fertility is dropping globally. The surest way to curb population growth is.....teaching girls to read. Once human beings escape from the clutches of retrograde traditional society, their number of pregnancies decreases briskly. And their health, life expectancy, personal accomplishment and economic productivity increase sharply.

Cruiser- we've been over this before....education and birth control. The US in this latest recession has had its birthrate drop to a point that won't sustain our current population.
If it wasn't for illegals we'd be dropping in population.

2 or less kids per couple is a negative birthrate. Hallelujah!!!
