thanks for linking, Mazeppa...

some of us "older" guys at work were talking about your namesake just the other day... The Uncanny Film Festival was fun to tune into, but my dad grumbled about the influence this Mazeppa fellow was having on my bro and I....

Death threats. Sheesh.

They should have just shut that program down.

I don't know if you know this but you can go to mazeppa.com and buy the lost tapes. And you can watch coach chuck (aka mazeppa aka Gailard Sartain) and Teddy Jack Eddy aka Gary Busey in one of their skits.

Oh I remember one skit where coach was having Teddy Jack flip and flop back and forth..."Belly! Back! Belly, back, belly, back, back, back, belly..."

It was real funny to a 14 yr old!

He then went back to Penn State, had a conservation with his teammates and made his decision.

Good story, but FoxSports must have a shortage of editors.

Good story, sounds like a good kid. Hope we hear his name a lot.

When is someone going to put that old Mazeppa stuff up on Youtube?

Did anyone else see that he is still graduating from Penn St. I found that interesting.

Good article. That comment at the end of the story is, I hope, not representative of the majority of PSU fans.

Galaird is back in Tulsa. He and his two daughters are artists. The oldest girl is actually pretty talented.

Sartain was a member of my fraternity at TU although he's a lot older than me. He had this habit of climbing through the front window at the frat house instead of coming in the door. The last time I saw him was in 1988 or 1989. He had come to one of our annual dinners and he was completely wasted. We had to herd our pledges into the back of the house because he was making their lives far more miserable than usual. Still, he had some funny anecdotes.

Good article. That comment at the end of the story is, I hope, not representative of the majority of PSU fans.I witnessed a boatload of nasty, arrogant PSUers at the OB in Miami after the '85 season, when we beat them for the NC.
