All for energy independence and energy subsidies, as long as its from sources that put money in his pocket like big oil. Harold Hamm (http://bigstory.ap.org/content/romney-oil-adviser-also-big-super-pac-donor) is among the bigger names on the oil tycoon list who back Romney. Nevermind that wind power has the potential to be our cheapest and most abundant source of energy (https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/mragheb/www/NPRE%20475%20Wind%20Power%20Systems/USA%20Wind%20Energy%20Resources.pdf) while leaving the environment intact.

I'm fine with Romney cutting wind subsidies, really. The private sector should be able to handle that development on its own. However, the wind industry cannot compete with oil/coal/natural gas being sold at artificially cheaper prices thanks to government subsidies!

These companies haven't been forced to deal with the negative externalities caused by their product, namely pollution, because the government has been digging into the taxpayer pocket instead. Study by Harvard (http://www.renewableenergyworld.com/rea/news/article/2012/02/death-to-pv-subsidies)

My photovolteic was finished up last week. I already had solar hot water.

Now my electric bill will shrink from $160 per month to $17.

I also look forward to the 65% federal and state tax credits.

There's a series of wind generators on the North Shore.

This week the battery storage facility for the electricity caught fire. Total loss.

I don't know the cause yet.

If wind is the cheapest it shouldn't need subsidies...that statement kinda craps all over you dislike with Rom wanting to pull the subs...

I've got no problems cutting all write offs for energy but cut them for other industries too. Manufacturers get most of the write offs the oil industry receives...

Ethanol has mandatory usage....a pathetic energy source. You don't have to have subsidies when an energy source has mandatory inclusion regardless of cost.

Hamm was a great choice by Romney vs the green commie Obama chose as an advisor.

Oil and gas companies get tax deductions....green energy gets tax credits and subsidies. There is a difference.

I really don't have a problem with that statement...as long as we are not talking about tax deductions that every company or sector receives...

Each subsidy should be looked at individually...

Oklahoma has tons of wind generators and I don't seem them cutting our electricity bill. It seems like a good idea on paper, a bad idea in execution.

I had Mexican food last night. If somebody put a windmill behind my butt you could power a small town for a few hours.

The difference being that Obama and his minions would rather refer to tax deductions as "subsidies" when doing their periodic demonizing of the petroleum industry.

When you see this thread title on the main index page, it just says "Romney Pledges to Cut Wind."

Maybe he will promise that he will stop campaigning and Obama as well. That would stop a lot of hot air...

"Romney cutting wind"?

Phil,
He would have to win the election, then be around to slap Harry Reid and Peeloski every time they open their mouths!
