I saw that the new, slick football guide is available to view online at Soonersports.com. As always, its very well done. Lots of color photos. It seems like the printed addition used to be prohibited from placing color pictures inside by NCAA. (?)

Anyway, while reading, I saw that Austin Woods was diagnosed with lymphoma in spring 2012. I hadn't heard that, but haven't kept up in the offseason like I should. Anyone know how that's going, and it he will be able to play?

The only disappointment was that Aaron "The Ripper" Ripkowski still just has a small picture and no bio. Maybe next year.

Its on the football page, under Quick Links -- Media guide, or maybe this will open:

The thing about Austin Woods was in a couple of threads
on here...one was talking about a shirt designed by Gabe
Ikard being sold and the proceeds to support Austin. I
ordered one but it never showed up...couldn't get any info
about the company so I figure it was a scam. Creep! Taking
advantage of another's illness...

Yep, I thought I'd take a glance at it, and an hour later was wrapping up.

OMG! This is rich!

According to the guide in the section titled Oklahoma Football History, Oklahoma has 7 National Championships (AP) but also 16 National Championships (NCAA-recognized).

The List of NCAA-recognized National Championships:
1949
1950
1953
1955
1956
1957
1967
1973
1974
1975
1978
1980
1985
1986
2000
2003

Let the debate begin!

2003 was due to the hard work of Brent Venables. :D

Also, there's no reason to debate something that is a fact. This link explains who gave us the nod. It doesn't say why so if you have a debate...it would seem to be with say Berryman in 2003 for example. Each year has a list of who felt we deserved National Championship notice.

In the last decade for instance, it seems that the only people who felt the AP giving away a National Championship Title that didn't agree with the BCS was the School who the AP gave the accolades to.

Hmm... to think I've been wondering if I'd live long enough to see #8... and all this time we've had 8 more than 8... bizarre. And unfulfilling.

I want the real Number Eight.

Who is Number 1?

You are, Number 8.
