Yes, the words are very bland, but the meanings behind them are anything but.

Inane. It seems that I am more frequently using this adjective more than any other these days, besides other adjectives such as silly, stupid, asinine and irresponsible. To soften them, I usually say: "a bit..." before using one of them.
