So, with the penalties today, it looks as if a player could transfer right now to a new school and play for that new school this season. Are coaches able to contact these players directly? Are there some studs in State College that OU could use--I would assume so. Do we have scholarship room?

I'm curious if PSU's 10 best players are getting calls from other colleges right now.

This article lines out all the specifics on the Penn State players and their options, as well as what the schools can do. (http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/07/23/we-were-penn-state-sanctions-debilitate-cripple-nittany-lions/related/)

In a nutshell, it's a free-for-all. Even other Big X schools can poach. No limit on contact, don't have to get permission from PSU, etc. I get the feeling that Urban Meyer is going to be a big beneficiary out of this whole fiasco.

Would be cool if we could add a solid DT from there, preferably a couple 1 younger guy and an upper class man who would be ready to step in right away and contribute.

I would like a WR, LB or a DT/E! We could use folks now and in the future for those spots!

I doubt that Stoops would do any poaching. I'm thinking the
player would have to contact OU.

NCAA said there is no restrictions on contacting PSU players.

Added sentence: Oh, I get what you mean, that he's got more integrity than to poach due to the sensitive nature.

Although if one of Bob's brothers, being a salt-o-thu-earth, blue-collar, Youngstown kind of guy, concerned for the young men athletes, y'know, just picked up the phone and called and really, y'know, listened to the young man's concerns and worries and then gave him the secret number to Bob's secret bat-cave.
Well, that would be okay by me.

Right now, I don't think we have an open scholarship to give. Well, depending on how they are dealing with the trio of receivers that have been suspended.

They are going to make exceptions for schools who are at max capacity. They even said they might ask some schools that are at max capacity to take one or 2 players.

What 5 star players?

I looked and they do not have the mega star players!

They did. I just didn't know where any of that stood, until I saw Stoops' interview at Media Day.

Do they have a kicker worth a damn who'll come here?

I doubt they have one better than Hunnicutt.

I don't think it would be a low-class move for Bob to try and get one or two of these guys. They deserve a better place to play. Maybe if the fan base didn't riot after Paterno was dismissed I would have a little more sympathy for them.

Yeah they do!

Hunnicutt went 21-24 with a long of 53 (longest in Stoops era). Fera went 14-17 with a long of 46 yards. How is Fera better?

And? He still didn't kick as well as Hunnicutt.

BTW, Hunnicutt is also on the Groza watch list. He's a stud.

He was a finalist, not watch list! Don't you know man every team and player out there is better then the ones we have.
