It hit 105 degrees yesterday in Tulsa. It'll probably hit close to that or more today. There is no rain forecast in sight here, only 100s every day, day after day.

Day by day
Oh dear Lord
These things I pray

To cloudier skies, not clearly
For lower temps more dearly
For rain clouds more nearly

Day by day

Since the Internet does not have an image to go with "hate filled rays" for me to shoot in your general direction, here is another random picture:

It really isn't an exit strategy, but air conditioning is.

Five straight days over 100 here in Colorado, which is a pretty unusual event here since they "average" less than one a year according to the records. Lots of stuff on fire here in the state. We thought we were moving away from the heat leaving Austin, still isn't the 90 days of 100+ temps like last year down there and we definitely don't have the humidity. I just got a new motorcycle a few weeks ago and it is still much hotter than I care to ride in.

109 on Tuesday. We felt great Wednesday when it was ONLY 102. We played our regular 36 holes.

I'll tell you how hot it was though. I had to drink two Gatorades, cutting back on the beer drinking by two. Disgusting.

This is unusual for us. We do get a couple of weeks of 100° heat, but it's usually later in July. In any event, the big difference is that you can go outside after the sun goes down and it's nice. Unlike living in OK/TX where it's still horribly hot after the sun goes down. Every time I think it's too hot, I remember the humidity, and how miserable it was to do anything outside.

The fact that the state is on fire makes things seem worse. The smoke is everywhere. I spent the better part of last week in Ft. Collins helping an employee's family evacuate (belongings and animals). The heat was bad, but the smoke and knowledge that the flames were so close made it worse.

I actually got out last night about sunset and "hauled" some hay like the old days. It was hot, but not unbearable.

My neighbor has a hay field, and he made about 70 square bales to put up in a loft to have to feed calves, etc. A very small job, but I enjoyed it, reminded me of hauling hay as a teenager. He did make these bales pretty light, though.

One of my favs:

It has not hit the 100s yet this month in Tulsa (99 yesterday) but it probably will today. I am hearing rumors of cold front. Of course, everything is relative. That would only send us down to the 80s. :D
