I'm shocked that Boone didn't make that announcement since he's the defacto head of OSU.

Is this (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6471380) still akrut?

Per year:
Pac 12: $225 million
B1G: $220 million
SEC: $205 million
ACC: $155 million

Doing the math... per school money (in millions)
Pac(12): $18.75
B1G(12): $18.33
SEC(14): $14.6
ACC(14): $11.07

Granted, I expect the SEC and ACC to renegotiate so that they have the per team split be at least what it was when they had 12 schools each. But even then...
SEC(12): $17.08
ACC(12) $12.92

No wonder FSU, Clemp, Gah Teq et al all wanna bail.

In case you're curious, NBC reportedly pays Domer about $15 mil per season (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/11/sports/ncaafootball/11sandomir.html)

That's a pretty sweet deal considering NBC only airs their home games. I assume they get plenty of $$$ for their away games as well.

If the big 12 could add Miami, FSU, Clemson and Notre Dame that would be an amazing football conference. Think of the money you could get with that contract.

Just read this week were the SEC distributed $241.5 among 12 schools for 2011-12 or $20.125 million per team this season.

So financially the B12 is in alignment with the SEC hence Mizzou's and aTm's move to the SEC will reap mega dollars only freedom from Texas' big stick.

The Big XII distribution as I understand it includes withheld payments (in the form of "exit fees" for the departed 4)...so it may be just slightly inflated this year, but I would expect to see per-school revenue distributions near $20 million for the Big XII in the future.

B1G distributed nearly $25 million to its member schools (except for Nebraska, which will receive reduced shares for the next few years).

Each Big Ten school will receive a record of approximately $24.6 million in shared revenue from the conference this year, according to figures provided by the Illinois athletic department.
The projected payout is based on budget estimates and is expected to include $7.2 million from the Big Ten Network, a drop from last year's $7.9 million. However, contracts with ESPN/ABC and CBS will result in $10 million per school, which is a 22 percent increase over last year.
Nebraska, which is completing its first year in the Big Ten, does not receive a full share of revenue yet.
The Big Ten paid its 11 members close to $22.8 million last year. TV revenues have allowed the conference to maintain its status as the richest in the country. By comparison, the Southeastern Conference paid an average of $19.5 million in 2011.
The Big Ten has jumped from paying $18.7 million in 2008 to nearly $25 million thanks largely to the creation and success of the Big Ten Network.
Illinois actually received more money from the conference than it budgeted the last two years. Last year's payment exceeded the estimate by more than $300,000.

I would assume that if they get money for away games that they also have to share some of the revenue from their home games as well.

I don't know how this works but I'd guess that they get nothing for an away game other than the promise of a home game in return.

That's what I was thinking a bit back. Seems like a lot of animosity toward Miami on our side. I lived through 85-87 too, but I think I'm over it. I like the idea of having 2 of the big 3 in Florida in the XII, and Miami brings a valuable name to the conference. And think of the opening that gives us for Florida recruiting. That's some gold right there.

It sounds like Miami is going to deemphasize football. Plus they have impending major violations.

I think that has been the goal of Sha-la-la ever since she took over, the Nevin Sapiro scandal just gave her justification.
