Craig James is not going to be the Republican candidate for the US Senate. Thank heavens.
I honestly don't know anyone who voted for him.
Here's hoping he spent lots of his own money on the campaign.

He spent some of his own money on the campaign, a large but not exorbitant amount, I just can't remember how much it was. And soooooo glad this tool wasn't just denied, but was denied in embarrassing fashion.

Curly Bill

$750,000 is the amount I'm finding that he gave to his campaign.

He got 50081 votes which amounts to 3.59% of the vote. Oh, missed it by THAT much.

So it only personally cost him about 30 bucks a Vote. Good investment there craigy ya Dumas

Without getting this thread too political, he said some stuff that would ensure that ESPN would never take him back. If they are gonna suspend someone for saying "Chink in armor" when talking about Jeremy Lin's off-night, they can't take Craig back. In fact, they are probably thanking their lucky stars that Craig was stupid enough to think the state of Texas would vote for him.

SMU was your alma mater, not UT or A&M.

Tech might not be everyone's school, but Mikey was everyone's pirate.

Hope you saved some of that $100 handshake money, Pony Boy :P

Well, that 50,000 votes made up less than 4% of the vote so the reason he got that many is because Texas is a very large state. I suspect that's 3% more than he would've gotten if his name had been Joe Smith.

A&M Aggies say that they ran out of time or got outscored, if I have my aggie crappy tradition references correct.

As for Craig, linky here (http://www.sbnation.com/ncaa-football/2012/5/30/3052997/craig-james-texas-senate-primary-statement) and statement below:

Friends,

I cannot begin to express my gratitude for your support during this campaign.

Last night I issued a statement congratulating Ted Cruz and David Dewhurst for making it into a runoff. Now, it's up to us, Texas voters, to determine who will best represent us in the U.S. Senate.

Last night was not a defeat; victory was merely delayed to another day! As Vince Lombardi said, "We didn't lose the game; we just ran out of time." I am still just as committed to advancing our values in Texas and Washington, DC.

This campaign reaffirmed my belief that Texans understand exactly what is needed to turn our country around. We've found the winning formula and it's rooted in the principles that founded this country: limited government, personal responsibility and opportunity for unlimited prosperity.

We need to export the principles that have created unprecedented job growth and business innovation here in the Lone Star State. That's why I will continue my work with Texans for a Better America, the non-profit organization I founded last year. Texans for a Better America is dedicated to the Constitution, free market and American Exceptionalism. We have an important message and I'm excited to share it with the country.

I hope you'll join me in this effort by liking the Texans for a Better America Facebook page, following us on Twitter and signing up for our newsletters.

Again, thank you for your support and vote. I look forward to seeing you down the road!

For Faith, Freedom and Texas,

Craig James

Curly Bill
5/31/2012, 09:41 AM
Jame's problem is his values he'd like to export to Washington are only shared by some overprotective soccer moms and effete little lady-dads. There are some of those in Texas, but for the most part that stuff doesn't fly real well here.

So... what about Mike Leach. Hmm...

1) Fun

2) It apparently makes Craig James angry that people keep saying it

3) It smears James, his bitchy little boy, SMU and other people/organizations that I personally dislike

4) It's summer time, there is no football and what else are we going to do. (well, if we were Nebrakans, we could engage in a cutthroat tiddlywinks tournie, but that's just too far to drive.)
