Here's a story link (http://www.tulsaworld.com/sportsextra/OSU/article.aspx?subjectid=93&articleid=20120529_93_0_STILLW23408)

Anderson, who finished with a nine-year record of 329-208, took over for Tom Holliday in 2003. In his first season, he led the Cowboys to a Big 12 Tournament championship.

I guess I didn't remember that OSU once had a good baseball team, going regularly to the CWS and all.

You'd have to be well into your 30s to remember that.

I'm 29, so I guess I just missed the cutoff :D

I know these guys are paid to win and stuff, but baseball has to be one of the most difficult sports to win consistently in for many reasons: Partial scholarships, early pro turns, the nature of the game where even the Chicago Cubs can win occasionally. :P

Just for the Cubbie fans --- the timing of this ad couldn't be more perfect:

Ahhh... forgot about this:

Holder said in a statement that Anderson had to "endure five years of very significant scholarship reductions due to miscalculations by the compliance office" but never made it an excuse. The Cowboys finally emerged from those scholarship limits but still could not make the postseason this year after finishing fifth in the Big 12.

What is the scholly limit normally, 11.7? That must have really stung

Actually what Holder wants to say is " Since T-Bone doesn't give a damn about baseball, we couldn't buy any players worth a damn like we have been doing in football"

Sooooooo, maybe they will hire Traber and we can all laugh at his failure?

I guess I didn't remember that OSU once had a good baseball team, going regularly to the CWS and all.

They were darn good back in the '80s. They played in the finals three times and had two of the greatest players to ever play college ball - Incaviglia and Ventura.

It's a shame they never won one. I think their weakness was pitching.

I saw them play when I was in high school. Incaviglia hit 3 or 4 home runs. He struck out a bunch in the pros but he was one heck of a college player.
