As other where saying we got a tough draw, but seriously, without that great run to end the year and in Big12 Tourney, we were probably a #3 seed. Texass who swept us, didn't even get in..LMAO.

Anyhow..I suspect VA is the team we will have to beat a couple of times to move on.

This is true, but App St. has been good all year, won a series against LSU and won a VERY good conference, the conference that Samford is in. They will be tough on Friday. They won 2 of 3 from Samford, beat their Friday night guy, and will have a good scouting report on us, I'm sure.

Actually, looking at it, App State lost to the guy that threw against us Friday. He gave up 2 runs against both teams. The series were strikingly similar.

Haven't seen it posted here, but gametimes changed AGAIN. Due to weather, yesterday they announced that Game 1 (UVA-Army) would be at 10:00 CT, which happens to be right now. Game 2 (OU-App St.) 50 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1. Now after all of this, the weather this morning in Charlottesvile is dicey. There is a chance that no games get completed today at all.

Another pathetic offensive performance by one of SG's teams in the NCAA tournament. Very frustrating!!!!

I just never got fired up about the Aric Thomas hire, i know Golloway had to find a replacement late in the process and Thomas is a Sooner . But it seemed like a safe hire especially after all the chaos and team rumors from last year. I know its just one year and OU is not eliminated yet...But like hurrican said its been frustrating to watch the offense the last 3 regional games.

I completely agree. I am not sure what type of influence he has on the team. SG felt the need to take control in the middle of the year and go back to the third base coach. Our performance at the plate, though, in three of the last four NCAA tournaments have been awful. Our pitching was not up to par today but it is hard to pitch knowing you aren't going to get any run support. 2 hits against a guy with a 4 plus ERA, from a mid major conference, is a joke. You have to be able to hit in the tournament to advance. The pitchers can't relax at all because they know they aren't going to get any support. Every pitch is magnified and you start to see mental errors. I thought our offensive performance was bad last year at the TCU regional, but today was even worse.

I've unfortunately missed most of this season. Is our pitching deep enough to win us two more tomorrow? From a pitching standpoint, it is an ABSOLUTE advantage to OU in these two games. Pitching depth has been OUs biggest plus so far this year. Now, that being said, if Damien Magnifico doesn't make it out of the 1st or 2nd inning this afternoon, that makes it very difficult on us. However, App St.'s pitcher today didn't make it out of the 1st in his last outing either so if it happens to both teams, OU is back in the ad court again. Now, our offense has been mostly anemic this weekend but the team's on base percentage is above .350. OU has been issued 22 free passes this weekend (15 BBs, 7 HBPs). It's difficult to bust out of a slump when opposing pitchers can't find the zone.

We know App State can hit the ball, but I doubt they've seen a 101 fastball this season. (I hope he lives in the 96-97 range, though, because that's where he pitches best)

A 4-0 run through the losers' bracket is downright amazing. And the first two pressure-packed games were decided by one run.

Halfway through the season, I was done. The team was still reeling from last year's ending, hadn't gelled and certainly didn't seem to have what it took to get to the NCAA Tournament. I didn't stop following/going to the games, but I certainly checked out mentally, as my friends who follow the team with me can attest. I was ready for a change at the top because it certainly felt like this program was headed in the wrong direction quickly.

Boy was I wrong. Sunny Golloway did his best job with this team. Great work. Absolutely brilliant. The pitching has been almost flawless down the stretch, the team is having fun for the first time since the Omaha run 2 years ago and they've gotten to where none of us thought they would.

Congrats to these guys. Baseball at OU is not an easy sport. Sunny's not an easy guy to play for. But when they make it to this point, it all becomes worth it. Great season. Absolutely wonderful.

Let's end the streak that we helped start! Beat the Cocks this weekend!

If you look at the schedule, we played a REALLY good schedule. Most of our non-conference series were with teams that WON a game or two in the NCAA Tournament. It didn't look great on paper, but it turned out to be a really quality schedule and prepared us well for the tournament.

They have really good pitching, though. This SHOULD be a very low scoring series. Their schedule wasn't THAT much better than ours. Sure, they played in the SEC which is a beast, but our non-conference schedule turned out to be just as good as anyone's.

I don't agree with that ranking. They play series against Florida, Kentucky, Vandy, Miss. State, Arky and LSU. Regular season series against three teams in the Super Regionals. We swept Baylor and played TCU once, I think. Arky once, which we won. It's not close.

We also beat Oregon in Eugene. 7-2 against teams in Super Regionals. Not too shabby.

I think we have a great shot at getting through this series. I just think the schedule difference is more significant than what's been stated. Heck, doesn't really matter now, does it? It will be a good series, and if OU wins, they won't be accused of having an easy path.

Arkanpig and So carolina both undefeated and playing each other tonight.. On the other side, Ariz. Wildcats undefeated. I suppose I want them to win, instead of the Pigs or the roosters, both of the despised SEC, SEC, SEC, Blech!

Kent State, Fl State crims, and UCLA are all still alive in the one-loss bracket as well.

First choice Kent St, then Ariz as*holes, then maybe UCLA would be my top 3 faves.

My daughter was a track athlete at Arky and is now in grad school at South Carolina. We hoped for a good game and got one. I figured the Hogs were set up pretty well. Their pitching depth makes them really tough in a tournament like this.

Halfway through the season, I was done. The team was still reeling from last year's ending, hadn't gelled and certainly didn't seem to have what it took to get to the NCAA Tournament. I didn't stop following/going to the games, but I certainly checked out mentally, as my friends who follow the team with me can attest. I was ready for a change at the top because it certainly felt like this program was headed in the wrong direction quickly.

Boy was I wrong. Sunny Golloway did his best job with this team. Great work. Absolutely brilliant. The pitching has been almost flawless down the stretch, the team is having fun for the first time since the Omaha run 2 years ago and they've gotten to where none of us thought they would.

Congrats to these guys. Baseball at OU is not an easy sport. Sunny's not an easy guy to play for. But when they make it to this point, it all becomes worth it. Great season. Absolutely wonderful.
