I know this is a Sooner board, but I think that it's great for fans and the sport of women's college basketball when a team like Baylor schedules 4 ESPN preseason top 10 ranked teams in out of conference play. Counting two games with each conference team, their schedule includes 15 games against top 25 opponents. That's pretty impressive, in my opinion.

For the 2012-13 season, Baylor is scheduled to play:

Nov 13: Kentucky (State Farm Tip-Off Classic, Waco) (#5 ranked)
Nov 18: Stanford (Jack in the Box Rainbow Wahine Classic, Honolulu, Hawai'i) (#6 ranked)
TBA: @ UConn (part of ESPN Rivalry Week) (#2 ranked)
TBA: Tennessee (#21 ranked)
TBA: @ Notre Dame (#8 ranked)

Within the conference, ESPN ranks Baylor #1 nationally, OU #12, Okie State #19, Kansas #22, Texas #23 and Iowa State #25.

There are going to be some very memorable games this next year, so book your season tickets to OU women's basketball.

And, tune into the TV because all of the top teams do this aggressive scheduling. #2 UConn for example is playing at #17 Texas A&M and at #6 Stanford and home against #7 Penn State, #3 Duke and #1 Baylor besides having to play #8 Notre Dame twice in conference play. Okay, they beat Baylor's scheduling by playing 8 games against top 10 opponents. That's pretty crazy. I love it!

Fact: All top womens basketball programs in college schedule hardcore, not SEC football creampuff non-conference schedules.
Fact: Sherri Coale never takes pre-conference scheduling lightly
Fact: Baylor can win it all again next year and it will STILL not make me relent on my anti-Skeletor stance.

PS: Scott Drew is a moron benefiting from AAU runner talent.

This wasn't meant as a Baylor thread. It was meant as a good-for-the-sport-of-women's basketball thread. Hence, the props to UConn and telling people that there will be some great games this coming season and to buy their OU season tix.

I did steal that info off of the Baylorfans.com site. I had hoped that someone would give us an early peak at the OOC games that OU had scheduled even though it isn't finalized yet. And, I would like to encourage my mom to go ahead and order her 4 season tix that she has done for many years now. I don't think my family missed one home game last season and thoroughly enjoyed all of them even with the one and a half-hour travel time to Norman.

My mom may agree with you about Baylor, Badger. And, congrats to you and NP on birth of Badger Jr and your return from maternity leave.

Still, I think Baylor is good for the sport and I'm looking forward to Baylor extending its 40 game win streak against the toughest competition. Sic'em Bears! Now, since you posted this thread is all about Baylor. Good on ya.

WAT?!

Yeah, I'm surprised by that too. It seems that Kentucky is the team to beat in SEC conference this next season. Pat Summitt IS the all-time winningest coach in NCAA basketball history of either a men's or women's team in any division. There is still a lot of emotion when she is on the sidelines as head coach emeritus and much-earned respect from opposing teams and fans.

I was very surprised to learn that in December 2013 that there would be a double game (women's and then men's basketball) played at Jerryworld between Baylor and Kentucky. I didn't know that they'd play basketball games there during the NFL season. How cool is that?

I think that Jerryworld is angling for a final four gig. For women's basketball, the 2012-13 season final four is at the Superdome, I think. You know that Baylor fans are going to be up for that.
