Somehow got curious what life is like on that base. I read some stuff online that says it like many of overseas postings, where you generally confine your activities to the base. Still, considering the location I wondered if it was claustrophobic at all. I read they have good beaches, schools, and plenty of scheduled activities.

Just wondered if anyone spent any time there, and if they enjoyed it? Sounds OK to me, safe and orderly, but that's just a mental image. I imagine your age and marital status is a big issue.

Never stationed or visited there, but I have seen A Few Good Men multiple times.

i wonder if the scumbags imprisoned there, realize how much nicer it is than the desert from which they came.

We control a pretty large space there, I am not sure if it is still an accompanied post, but I believe it once was. I also got there when I was on a cruise with a Coast Guard fast boat we were testing, however a tropical storm swept through there and we ended up in the Bahamas.
