Both inked 4 year deals with the Lions according to the Daily Oklahoman.

While I'm very happy for Ryan and Ronnell, it just surprises me that Detroit was the team that drafted Broyles. They're pretty stacked at receiver as I understand it, and just one visit to a Lion's message board revealed some very unhappy campers at the position choice vs other needs the team has.

Maybe they just have plans for his extended rehabbing, and being a force for them two or three years down the road. Anyone got more insight into his situation?

detroit's draft philosophy under the new GM has been drafting best available as opposed to need... thus taking nick fairley last year and broyles this year. they really felt like broyles was a steal at that spot and he can be a good weapon so they took him

I wonder why front offices don't pay attention to message boards? As the engineers say: "A camel is a horse designed by a committee".

Hammer time will have a better chance of making the team than the late round draft picks of last year since there's no lockout. Alas, as Rufus Alexander learned, late draft picks have a lot less job security than higher ones early in their careers. Good luck, Hammer!

This is like that every year, regardless if there is a lock out or not.

Who cares if they are stacked at WR??? They now have a top 3 passing attack in the NFL.

The Lion's deny it (of course), but multiple analysts believe Broyles will compete with Nate Burleson for the slot starting in '13.

Broyles is like Wes Welker 2.0 (in the right system), little faster, as good of hands, and can flat out get open.. He's a little stud !!

Just when I think you can't post anything worthy of reading...you post this and redeem yourself. Damn, I can't quit laughing...and it's not even that funny.
