ALABAMA STATE PREVIEW
• Oklahoma (23-14) hosts Alabama State (16-23) over the weekend in a three-game set starting on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at L. Dale Mitchell Park. Game two on Saturday is set for 2 p.m. while Sunday’s finale gets underway at 1 p.m.
• It marks the first meeting with ASU. They are one of six first time opponents in 2012 (UConn, WVU, Hartford, Oregon & Samford).
• OU is 6-4 in the last 10 games, including a five-game winning streak over then-No. 9 Arkansas, Missouri (three games) and at ORU.
• The Sooners are not ranked in the top 25 for the second straight week but appear at No. 26 in Collegiate Baseball’s top 30 listing.
• The Sooners return five position starters from the 2011 squad that finished 41-19 overall and third in the Big 12 (14-11).
• Alabama State returns seven letterwinners from the 2011 team that was 14-29 overall and fourth in the SWAC at 6-18.
• ASU is not ranked and is 5-5 in its last 10 games and last time out, lost two games at home in a shortened series with Jackson State.
