A little taste of the crime we must deal with every day here:

DUI
Eugene Dipeolu, 51, 364 Whitewater Place, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at 1:30 a.m. following a traffic stop in the 100 block of West Boot Road.
DUI, hit and run
Earlzell Lewis, 24, 285 Pueblo, was charged with a hit and run, driving too fast for conditions, driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage at 12:42 a.m. following a traffic stop at Seneca and Algonquin courts.
Nike shoes stolen from home
A pair of Nike shoes and a television, together valued at $288, were stolen from a home between March 25 and March 30 in the 200 block of Yellowpine Drive.
Chevrolet Astro stolen
A 1988 Chevrolet Astro was taken from a driveway between March 20 and March 30 in the 200 block of Home Drive.
Condoms stolen from Walmart
A package of condoms was stolen at 8:26 p.m. from Wal-Mart, 200 S. Brook Drive. Reports state a witness saw someone place the condoms in a pocket and exit the store.

So a Pair of Nikes an a TeeVee are 288 bucks?
Was the TeeVee only worth 33?

What amazes me is that somewhere in the world there's a 1988 Chevy Astro that's still running...and that someone wanted to steal it.

There is so many shootings there they don't even bother giving them seperate stories...They just lump them together as "The people who got shot last night..."

On weekends there are even more shootings! The shootings are either black gangs or mexican gangs - drugs, drugs, drugs.

This weekend will be especially active since it will be in the 70's. Anytime the temperature is above 50, you can expect an uptick in shootings/homicides. I'm guessing Friday and Saturday night will both have shootings in the double digits.

maybe in some neighborhoods, but not in the neighborhoods where cops really need information. the 'hood just don't snitch.

Not really, but there has been a large upswing in armed robberies/muggings of 20-something white girls in Wicker Park/Bucktown neighborhood. The strange thing is the timing of the events, anywhere from 3pm to 5am.

No, the ownership of handguns is illegal in Chicago. Although that law has seemed to work out really well....

The only people with handguns are: cops, political cronies, and gang bangers. The rest of the population is too stupid to be allowed to own them, let alone carry them. The former mayor, Richey Daley, claimed if Chicago allowed its citizens to carry handguns, there would be "shoot outs in the streets like noon at the OK Corral." Too bad the citizens in Gary, Indiana are much smarter than Chicago citizens, since Indiana has CC.
