What I find amazing is that he lied to his boss. The one person who could help him withstand the fire storm that is sure to come. He could have very easily claimed they were just riding around and he dropped the bike. Just to sell it he could have claimed it "was a good thing she was there" because he needed medical assistance and was unable to move very well. By removing her from the equation it automatically insinuates they were having a relationship. There would be no harm in them riding around.
The other thing is that he should have realized someone had probably already seen them together, why lie about it now? It appears they were not wearing helmets so it would have been easier to identify them anyway. In a state that has no professional sports, etc, the head football coach at the states flagship university is pretty easy to spot. Man is this guy stupid. I hope she was worth $2 million, or whatever he makes.

Petrino's real wife isn't bad looking for a grandmother. One of his daughter went black and never went back. The other was a golfer at Louisville.

Anyway, he's a stupid clownass for what he's done. Men and their penises...what are you gonna do?

What I find amazing is that he lied to his boss.
I'm not. The guy's a low character individual. Arkansas can't claim they didn't know what kind of guy he was either. He's been accused of being a liar by both Louisville as well as the Falcons.

Tear Down This Wall
4/6/2012, 02:01 PM
What else was Arkansas going to do? They'd already run Houston Nutt and his program full of drug runners. A guy banging a former student athlete was...a step up?

Let me go ahead and say this as well...I'm happy to pile on here because I've never liked Petrino. But, let's not kid ourselves. It wouldn't surprise me at all if any head coach in America you can name was caught banging a coed. Yes, even Bob Stoops.

I know, I know. His wife's hot...yadda, yadda, yadda. I'm not saying he is or would. I'm just saying news about any of these guys you can name wouldn't surprise me.

They've got money. They've got cults of middle-aged alumni jackwads bowing down to them. They got stature in the community. And, many girls fall easily for that kind of crap.

Put a girl in close quarters day after day, year after year with those guys, and...it doesn't surprise me with Petrino, and it wouldn't surprise me about any of the other 120+ FBS coaches either. With thousands of coeds on the campuses, you're bound to have a few that would give it up for the money and status.

That life, brohaus. Believe me. Look no further than the insurance world. Try writing a life policy or umbrella policy on an athlete, coach, or celebrity. Many companies won't do it, or charge more for it. Why? Because...those guys are hit with lawsuits from the women who lay it out for them, then target them for cash.

Truth is truth.

Confirmed: AR state police commander asking for answers to questions relating Captain Lance King's response to Bobby Petrino folo accident.
Jessica Dean ‏@JessicaDean

We can also confirm Petrino's cell called King, asking for help. Police report states King picked Petrino up at intersection in Fville.
Jessica Dean ‏@JessicaDean

According to report, King was not the officer who responded to accident scene. That officer found no one when he arrived.

When you are an offensive genius, you get a job in the NFL. When you get a job in the NFL, you lose games. When you lose games, you take a job at Arkansas. When you live in Arkansas, you get bored. When you get bored, you go looking for strange. When you go looking for strange, you find strange. When you find strange, you take it for a ride on your motorcycle. When you take strange for a ride on your motorcycle, she reaches around and grabs your junk. When she grabs your junk, you wreck your motorcycle. Would insurance be liable for that ????

Some policies could. An umbrella could is it's a true umbrella, not an excess over/"follow the form" policy. A Directors & Officers policy might defend a school that catches a lawsuit of an employee. An Employment Practices Liability policy might cover.

There are many different types of policies. Many have to do with employments. You have here the larger problem for situations like Arkansas and Penn State, etc...somewhere on campus there are adults actually acting like adults. Usually in the form of a Board of Director or Executive. Whom do you think gets sued?

Just the coach? Think again. Who hired the coach? Who was responsible for supervising and managing the coach? These things are all laid out in legal documents and contracted contemplated and covered by certain types of insurance.

For sure, at these bug universities, some of that liability might be in a self-insured program. But, there could be excess coverage over it.

This type of behavior costs universities and their insurers hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal bills and settlements. In some cases, millions.

The overarching problem with things getting as far out of hand as they have in athletic departments as far as spending is only partially that it looks bad because as much emphasis should be placed (theoretically) on academics. The reality is, these football coach - and at a handful of schools, the basketball coaches - have too much power and are given too much deference. The hubris it creates causes costly situations for universities.

So the guy is probably going to lose his job because he's assumed to be having an affair. Fine, whatever they think will help the situation. A coach, not far down the road, pays a parent for the use of his kid to win a national title, and that's old news (and said coach was never even really affected by it). Strange world we live in.

Actually the proper thing to do these days is to not admit you were tapping dat a$$....just admit you had an inappropriate relationship. That doesn't say you had played hide the pork sausage or Motorboated her boobies.....you just became a little to close.

Not so sure. Typically coaches aren't put on administrative leave if there isn't at least some discussion of termination. Personally, I don't think he should have even been put on administrative leave...and could care less what he's doing (as long as he's not breaking the law).

Are you sure you'd want Stoops gone? We had an "unfaithful" President, and it didn't seem to affect how he did his job.

I can't control whether or not people are faithful to their spouses, unless I'm directly involved. As far as I know, being in a monogamous relationship isn't a qualification for coaching D1 football. He didn't break any laws (unless there were laws broken that caused the crash, or are crash related, that I don't know about). I didn't care about Petrino's personal life before this all came about, and I don't really care about it now.

If I worried about all of the people out there cheating on their spouses, I'd be worrying 24/7.

Now, if it were Stoops, it would certainly change the way I viewed him as a person, but I can't say I would want him fired over it.

Given that Petrino has turned that program around, the hog faithful will more than likely adopt this attitude towards him, assuming there wasn't enough evidence that guy was a sleazeball before they even hired him.

It may not be the moral high-ground stance, but I think your correct. I'm thinking he's on administrative leave as a token gesture so that the university can say "hey, we punished him, and warned him!".

Lost respect for him after he skulked away from the Falcons like a low-life scum that he is... leaving a letter of resignation on a locker room door for his players in Atlanta. Poor form. It's not like we are over on the Arkie Board giving them a hard time. We are just having a little fun with a married guy that really shouldn't have taken a Woman other than his Wife or Daughter on his motorcycle. If it was no big deal, you'd think his Wife would be around defending him and insuring everyone that the gal he hired is like a Daughter to him and that we are all just a bunch of dirty thinkers to think that good ole Bobby would ever do anything to damage his relationship with his Wife and Family.

I think after the Barry and Larry deal we suffered quite enough from that situation as fans. The guys that replaced Gary Gibbs until we hired Stoops were enough to balance that out IMO.

I think Petrino is a bad guy... not because he cheated. He was a bad guy before that. That is just the icing on the cake. Lot's of people cheat and can do a great job simultaneously. You may not care for their politics, but some notorious cheaters include:
JFK
FDR
Good Will Clinton
Benjamin Franklin

I love Ben Franklin. That dude was amazing. He wasn't faithful either. Still a great leader.

Was Switzer ever married during his years at OU? I can't recall anyone ever speaking of a wife...Yes he was. He had 3 kids while he was OU coach.

Neat thing he did, brought his & Jimmy Johnson's ex-wives to Super Bowl that he won.

Petrino's got to go. It's not the kanoodling that's the problem, it's the coverup.

And I read on ESPN that the little missie is "in seclusion", and that a friend says of her: "She's not a bad person." Someone who is carrying on with a married man IS A BAD PERSON!!! And let me tell you, when I was 25 years old, I didn't find the 50 year old men that I worked with attractive. I'm sure she found it all very exciting and thrilling to be "hanging out" with the football coach. Too bad for her fiance.

The problem isn't that Patrino lied or cheated. The problem is that he hired her to work for him (at $100,000 a year) without going through the proper channels. Anyone else qualifed for the job with a halfway decent lawyer could have a field day with this.

Still he isn't going to get fired. The guy could cheat on his wife with the entire cheerleading squad, take over Mike Vick's Dog fighting operation and burn the American Flag and still keep his job. As long as Arkansas is on the climb and as long as LSU, Alabama and Auburn are in the same division he is safe.

Fans withdrawing financial support to the program. BP is very popular in Fayetteville.

Good to see Arkansas do the right thing. Some lines simply cannot be crossed. Having an affair with a direct report and lying to your AD about it are both termination offenses and he should suffer the consequences.

I admit I was surprised that he was fired. I thought in D-1 football results trumped moral turpetude or whatever.

The big question now is who do the hogs turn to now? Petrino may be a poor excuse of a husband, but he has proven track record for churning out wins or else he would not have been there in the first place. Hog fans will have to bite the bullet on this one and accept the cost of being morally superior and politically correct as fewer W's and more L's.
