Santorum trying his hardest to shoot himself in the foot with every minority community, not just the gays. There really are no good candidates on any side, but Santorum is by far the worst. When was the last time a more moronic, hateful, spiteful, [insert demeaning adjective here] ran for president? LBJ?

You talking about the hateful, moronic Obama's election, aren't we?

Wonder what word Santorum was about to say, but corrected himself.
Probably like many of the hal;f pronounced insults that Obama himself has thrown at others.
But, Santorum would probably have even been attacked for using the outdated term Negroe.
And then, we all know that only a black person can call another Black person a .........!
OH, the outrage!

Doesn't really sound like he was going down the "negro" trail, neg and nig are pronounced pretty differently, if I recall correctly. I agree Obama has is own racist tendencies, and while he is incredibly well spoken I certainly don't find him to be extremely intelligent, so this is no partisan rant. Of course I'm not surprised you turned an insult by an imbecile like Santorum into a rant against Obama, hell it was probably even Obama's fault that Santorum nearly called him a "******". He shouldn't have been black right?

Honestly I don't recall, must be my selective socialist memory. All I remember Biden saying is "this is a big f****** deal". Not quite the same as say, Santorum even ALMOST dropping the n word, or Jackson saying he was going to cut Obama's balls off or whatnot.

Well, one thing that can be hoped for: maybe the current crop of midgets will finally cost the GOP a major election that they should win by 20 points going away and then the religious fruitloops can get bundled off to the attic again and we can get some normal people to run again.
Right about now, a Jerry Ford, Nelson Rockerfeller, Barry Goldwater, Bush Sr. type candidate is looking pretty good to me. Imagine! A candidate who has spent years schooling him or herself in the process and the issues, is willing to work across party lines for the betterment of the nation, and actually understands the philosophical bases on which they stand (as opposed to mouthing empty postion statements fed them by handlers just off stage.)

Paul would be the closest to what you've mentioned, although I'm not sure how he is on working across party lines. He's a hard idealist, albeit a Constitutional one for sure.

But that's an aside from your original point which I think is very correct. Hard times, economic and/or political always bring out the worst fringe elements of the political system (in b4 lol looney paul). I'm currently living in Hungary and there is no better example of what tough economic times do to people's political ideology than here, at least during the past ten years. When your most "moderate" party rewrites the entire constitution based off their party platform simply because they had a supermajority...you're in some serious trouble. Makes me thankful that such change cannot occur so fast in the United States.

Where is Santorum from - where raised?
I was raised in PA & WV, and we pronounced the word "Nig-Row".
Just sayin'........and all we easterners talk fast too.....making some mistakes as a result.
(You know, talking without a teleprompter)

Some past relatives in my family were borderline racist.
The childhood neighbor was affectinately know as "Nig***-Bill"!
I grew up helping him collect junk and recycle scrap metal.
Everybody I knew close by loved the guy....did all kinds of stuff for him.
The love was reciprocated.
And, when he died a pauper, the neighbors saw that he "got a fittin' funeral and burial".

As a child, he was the most openly religious person I knew.....even more that the Catholic clergy.
He would often read scripture to me and the other neighbor kids.
I still love him as "Nig***-Bill"!

BTW....I know this pisses the folks off who lost their minds about Obama's 2008 Election but these tactics by Santorum and the GOP only serve to bring out the same voters that many felt only voted for the first time in their life for the Presidency because the Candidate was Black, to head to the polls again and continue to prove that what the GOP in this Country are really missing is that Americans are tired of seeing our Country divided like it was during the Civil War.

Continue these tactics and continue to put guys with Silver Spoons in their Mouths and continue to be disappointed for years to come. Our Country is changing.

PA? Admittedly I've never heard anyone in that dialect specifically say neg or nig, personally I pronounce it like knee-grow. People talk fast and make mistakes sure, but generally I think most presidential candidates are able to talk slow enough to keep racial slurs out of their vocabulary, right? Is it that hard, or does Santorum have some sort of undiagnosed Tourette's syndrome? If this was the first "Santorum bigoted statement" issue, then I don't think I would find it much of a big deal. I'm really not a member of the PC police, trust me. But this statement is one of many in a continuous stream of ignorance that constantly flows from this moron's mouth.

I guess that if you aren't going to change and realize that those days are gone...you might at least embrace that Nig-row Barack is your President and since he will get Govt assistance for the rest of his life because he is President that you can begin to embrace him not only as your beloved Nig-row President but really learn that he really isn't any different than old Nig-row Bill and that someday you are gonna look back and remember the days you were pretty awful to old Nig-row Barack when you had the chance to be as nice to him as old Nig-row Bill.

The most racist occurrence in the last 5 years in the US is the percentage of Black voters that voted for Obama in '08...somewhere around 96%. It still boggles the mind that 96% of anyone could agree on anything.

LIBERAL OUTRAGE!!!

Let's not forget these wonderful moments also, to be equally outraged over:

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy... I mean, that's a storybook, man." - Joe Biden

"...He was wowed by Obama’s oratorical gifts and believed that the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama — a “light-skinned” African American “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one,” as he said privately. Reid was convinced, in fact, that Obama’s race would help him more than hurt him in a bid for the Democratic nomination." - 1998 book "Game Change", on Harry Reid's comments about Obama's skin color and electibility

"You cannot go to a 7-11 or Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian Accent." - Joe Biden

Mahatma Gandhi "ran a gas station down in Saint Louis." - Hillary Clinton

"He's married to a white woman. He wants to be white. He wants a colorless society. He has no ethnic pride. He doesn't want to be black." -- California State Senator Diane Watson's on Ward Connerly's interracial marriage

"Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds." - Former US Senator Robert Byrd, a man who was referred to by many Democrats as the "conscience of the Senate", in a letter written in 1944, after he quit the KKK.

"You f*cking Jew b@stard." -- Hillary Clinton to political operative Paul Fray. This was revealed in "State of a Union: Inside the Complex Marriage of Bill and Hillary Clinton" and has been verified by Paul Fray and three witnesses.

"I'll have those n*ggers voting Democratic for the next 200 years." - Lyndon B. Johnson to two governors on Air Force One according Ronald Kessler's Book, "Inside The White House"

"Jews — that's J-E-W-S." -- Democratic state representative Bill McKinney on why his daughter Cynthia lost in 2002

(I) "will not let the white boys win in this election." -- Donna Brazile, Al Gore's Campaign Manager on the 2000 election

"There's no great, white bigot; there's just about 200 million little white bigots out there." -- USA Today columnist Julienne Malveaux
