OU vs. AIR FORCE SERIES NOTES
- OU leads 3-0, including the last meeting in 2004, 16-1 victory in Norman.
- OU is 2-0 against Air Force in Norman. The two met for the first time in 1971 and the Sooners won 13-2.
- The teams also met in the 1983 NCAA Tournament in Tampa, Fla., with OU recording a 12-9 victory.

This should be two easy games for the Sooners before this weekends matchup @ Texas Tech.

Here is some stats on the Sooners so far this season:

Team Batting AVG - .275 (6th in the Big 12)
Team ERA - 5.16 ( 8th in the Big 12)
Team Fielding % - .969 (6th in the Big 12)

My observations so far:
Its been mainly bad pitching and bad defense. Our starting pitchers and bullpen have been horrible. Jordan John and Dillon Overton are the only ones on the OU pitching staff that has a ERA under 5. Our starters have struggled in majority of the games and it seems that it is hard to keep them in past 4 or 5 innings. They gave up a lot of hits and runs on two outs against Texas this weekend.

Defense: Errors, errors, and errors has been the major down fall for our defense. Right now our defense has 25 errors on the season. No team will win games comitting the amount of errors we did in the Nike Showcase and this past weekend against Texas.

Hitting: I think we have improved. Lockwood has shown his power (leads team with 6 HR's), Max White has hit the ball very well, and we are getting good production out of Ross, Rheine, White, and Mistich. Bushyhead is hitting the ball better than the beginning of the season.

Hopefully the team will improve. We got games in the next two weeks that we should win (AF, Texas Tech, Oral Roberts, and K-State) before a big 3 game series against Texas A&M.

after 4...OU leads 4-0

Getting the start in game 2 for OU is Coshow. Making his first career start and throwing a great game so far. 4.0 IP, 1 hit, and 3 SO. Hopefully I don't jinx him

Coshow is being replaced in the top of the 6th....AF tacks on 2 runs. I think the pitching change has more to do with Coshow's pitch count. He throw between 80-09 pitches. Taylor comes in. 0 outs with runner in the 2nd.
