For the first time in 2012, the Dallas Baptist Patriots (10-6) defeated a Top 25 team. For the first time in 2012, the Dallas Baptist Patriots won a game when trailing after six innings. For the first time in 2012, the Patriots won in walk-off fashion. Tuesday night at Patriot Field, DBU defeated Oklahoma (11-6) by scoring four runs in the ninth inning off closer Jordan John (3-2) to win, 7-6. Joel Hutter muscled a 1-1 pitch from John into center field to score Austin Elkins from third with the score tied which set off a celebration in shallow right field by his Patriot teammates.
