You have three days of anonymous one-time no-change voting!

EDIT: I am often asked for what criteria people should be voting on. It's the offseason, people. Your criteria is to do whatever the eff you want, including in how you vote. What is importantly to you? NCAA rules? Not ignoring reports of suspected child abuse? Winning versus losing? Loyalty and longevity? Pick your own criteria... and then comment about it below if you so choose. :)

Turner Gil because Kansas has been putrid.

Oops, missed Paterno on there. That would be my #1.

Maybe I should have left Paterno off... but I know he had many supporters in the Penn State community that were outraged at his firing.

Remember, I'm asking about the act of FIRING here, so if you thought these guys should have been gracefully shown the exit or asked to resign or retire instead, that would not qualify as "deserved to get fired."

So many good choices ! Might need to split into categories:

1) Most repulsive situation - Paterno
2) Most flagrant rules violation - Butch Davis (no Tressel?)
3) Under performing on the field given the talent - Erickson (or Neuheisel or Sherman)
4) Inept at building a program (Gill or Neuheisel)

On coaching performance alone, Paul Wulff. On overall disgust, Joe Paterno. Fired a year too early, Turner Gil. Fired a year too late, Rick Neuheisel.

Neuheisel, but par for the course. Payback for pulling Mackey's scholly and missing out on TRRW. :D

This is strictly a firing poll.

Butch Davis was fired:

Jim Tressel resigned:

I mean, we could have a poll about "the coach that no longer is at his job that is rightfully no longer at his job" and include the Howie Schnelllys (retired) or the Todd Grahams (evilness backstabbery) or the graceful exits (...um... Jim Tressel, I guess???) but this is about FIRINGs.

As in, "You're fired! ...and we are calling you tonight at your home rather than doing it in person in the morning because we want you know directly and you have tons of students and media on your front lawn!"

Soooo... do you want me to close this poll and make it about something specific, or should I continue to make you all decide between Paterno and an actual football-related firing decision?

Ah yes, Tressel did resign and it went like this:
tOSU regents: "Jim, we accept your resignation."
Tressel: "My what?"
