Tom Wort about Tim Kish...

Interesting. Having a change at Linebacker Coach might allow for a guy like Tom to really find his real strengths maybe. He seems to understand the differences between Brent and Tim. Hopefully this turns into something special as I've really enjoyed watching Tom get better and better. Hopefully Kish can continue to help Tom be really special this season.

I'm not too worried about 2012 (as it relates to our LBs) even with the coaching change. My concern is more about 2013.

2013 becomes a must recruit two LBs situation and if you don't trust that 2 Stoops Brothers and Kish can't land at least 2 LBs I guess we need to think about getting us 3 new Coaches if not more then.

Are my only options to wait and see if we can sign two LBs or want the coaches fired?

Call me crazy, but the fact that two of the three starting LBs (this coming year) are leaving in 2013, and the best back up on the roster just left the team, all makes me a little concerned about the 2013 LB corps. Hopefully we can sign a couple of studs, and some of the young guys on the roster will develop into great backers.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. But, we've already lost two OLB recruits to Texas and Michigan. We still have 9 offer out for OLBs, so surely we can pick up a couple. As for ILB, we only have one offer out (Cox), but we're in a good position with that one.

I watched an Interview with Mike Stoops on Oklahoma Sports Blitz....

Per Mike...Oklahoma is blessed with a great area to recruit players from. It was that way when I was here 8 years ago and nothing has changed since then. I think this group of players can be very explosive, very easy to Coach and are very smart. I've been very pleased with the 4 practices we've had.

I don't think my defense will change much from Brent's.

He says he will run a 4-3 / 3-4. We've been very multiple here at Oklahoma and will need to prepare for many variations.

Mike doesn't seem to worried about his LBers. I think he's looking for guys who are fast and can cover lots of ground.

That's an example of saying the right thing. Why criticize Brent in public when he's not even part of the picture any more? Notice he said "much". It will change. It will change "enough".

I don't think he needs to be this year. My concern is for 2013, and I'm sure there is concern among the staff as well....but there's no reason to worry about 2013 until it's 2013.

I don't think getting recruits that want to come to OU is a problem. It's getting the best of recruits out there. A national title would also help that cause. I'm thinking about sending Mike an email and letting him know that. :playful:
