The Oklahoma Sooners finished the 2011 season with a 10-3 record and a 6-3 record in conference play. In 2011, the Sooners' biggest win was by 56 points against the Ball State Cardinals and their biggest loss was by 34 points against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Last season, the team was led by Landry Jones (4,463 passing yards, 29 passing touchdowns, 15 interceptions), Dominique Whaley (627 rushing yards, 9 touchdowns), and Ryan Broyles (1,157 receiving yards, 10 touchdowns).
