Crazy...just saw the report.

Nothing being said about cause/manner of death, but would it surprise anyone to find out it was drug related?

RIP

She was the prettiest black gal back in the late 80s.

Her and Vanessa williams

Possibly the best National Anthem I can remember.

Oh, and I still think Vanessa Williams is pretty hot.

I hope this doesn't sound to crass but I'm surprised she lasted as long as she did. Her Drug Problem was way out of hand.

I know folks close to her really tried to help her. I feel for them today as I know they really tried to get her to turn things around.

She was probably hooked on pain killers

I have to think she died from that or intravenous drug use.

I remember how she made that comeback deal after rehab and I thought it was nice that someone cared enough to try and give her another chance to live the rest of her life without the drugs and the life that she had surrounded herself with. I was more surprised about Micheal Jackson that hearing Whitney had passed. When she did the comeback deal...I thought they may have rushed putting her back on stage.

I think we all know now that MJ was more ready for rehab than doing that last tour.

If she wasn't doing crack...she was mixing up some really powerful cocktails of something.

Another once great talent laid waste by drugs. So sad.

If it wasn't due to drug use now, then it very probably was due to past use. Didn't she make some comment (in the Crack is Whack interview) about cocaine being the better drug because only poor people used crack?

She had a farm between Germantown and Collierville, TN. I seen her at a cafe in Collierville back in 89' and she was beautiful. Fast forward to 04'. I was staying in a hotel in Atlanta one weekend...her and Bobby had a suite at the same hotel...she looked like a chicken head...

Yep. Sad she couldn't see what she was doing to herself.

what is it about having such a God given talent - and squandering it away - along with all the $$$.....for drugs

i wasnt shocked when i saw the news - not really sad either - tragic for her family and especially her daughter.....just seems that many of our music and film "legends" have demons to go along with the talent from above......addiction can kill you

sad story really

here you go:

Legendary singer and film star Whitney Houston drowned alone in a bathtub having accidentally overdosed on a cocktail of prescription drugs and alcohol after two back-to-back evenings of out-of-control binges, it has been claimed.

She was OK, but she sure as hell wasn't no Jimi, Janis, or even Jim. Hard to get too shook up when rich/famous people **** up their lives with dope.

It's unfortunate when anyone succumbs to drugs and alcohol. They're supposed to be fun.

Hitting those high notes like it's nothing.

This video needs to be shown instead of having other artists sing the anthem before a game.

I need a drink and a bath. Maybe I'll get the drink after the Bath.

Didn't Morrison die while taking a bath with Val Kilmer in Paris? :D
