Another great Story. Guy last week was a nobody and this week he's having to convince Madison Square Garden Security that he's a player for the Knicks. He out scored Kobe.

Im gonna include more vbookie events with him. Not really a fan of nba unless blake is involved, but it was so awesome to watch "the humble hero from harvard" pwn the lakers, even if it means the knicks no longer suck.

The whole Lin story caught me by surprise. I went to a Thunder - Golden State game in December 2010 and Lin played a minute or so in garbage time. I was curious about this rookie Chinese Harvard grad and I bookmarked his Yahoo Sports profile so I could follow his career in the future. For the last year - nothing. I wondered recently if he got cut.

Then this week, wow! Knicks have now won 5 in row and Lin has saved their season from going into oblivion. I imagine Lin has also injected a lot of fresh fan enthusiasm in NYC too. That means more ticket sales and cash. Lin has earned a pay day which I assume he will get sooner than later.

Lin is the first Chinese American born player in the NBA I think I read somewhere. China has already started broadcasting the Knicks games. NYC has a significant Chinese population itself so I can see a lot of new fans becoming interested in the Knicks. It's a great story. Too bad there wasn't a way for the Thunder to have stolen him for ourselves (but we probably could not have given him the minutes to see him bloom as he has).

Larry Wilmore on the Daily Show...

Talking about how Black People's jobs are being outsourced to China right in their face. LMAO!

Per Larry to Lin..."Knickerbocker Please! Just give us back the rock!"

Funny Stuff.

I wish people would stop comparing him to Tim Tebow. Tebow was given every chance to succeed from being a top high school recruit, to being at a big time college program, to being a Heisman winner, a first round draft pick, trading away the starter to make room for him, you name it.

Lin wasn't recruited to any D-1 programs out of high school and had to work his arse off as a non-scholarship player at Harvard and being undrafted. There was no first round draft pick status for him to rely on to get his chance to start, he had to earn it.

And Lin is like TONS more humble that Teebz and doesn't seem to be seeking the publicity that Timmy seems to love and seek out.

So anyway, I'm making tonight's LINSANITY event all about Lin, because who gives a crap about the Knicks :P

The great thing about Lin is that he looks like he is having fun, which makes it fun to watch for me. But I don't really like the NBA and certainly not the Knicks. I'll just stick with the highlights. Oh wait, I don't watch ESPN news. Huh. What's a middle-aged cracker supposed to do?

Lin has a large following here in Hawaii, and not just the Chinese people.

I might not get as many vBettors on Lin as I am on Sooner football, but it's nearing Sooner basketball participation on vBookie! :)

The big question is... can he keep this winning and linning streak up? So... that's what makes vBookie fun I guess, trying to determine when Lin-sanity ends.

My guess is that the streak will end.

'till then..........go Lin !!!

So guess what ESPN decided to put as their mobile app headline today:

That's a common phrase.

I think the powers that be at ESPN were looking at in a negatively slanted way.

I heard about the guy getting fired for that, but couldn't find what he said. You have to admit that seems awfully coincidental. And if you didn't mean it, proof read you stuff and realize it is going to offend a lot of people...

Lin is a good story, the only thing I hate about it is people aren't talking as much about the Thunder. Durants 51 point game barely got mentioned on SC afterword, but they had three pieces on Lin. A week or so back on SC every little topic on the lefthand side of the screen was about Lin. I've never seen so much attention given to one player on SC. That's the only similarity between his story and Tebow's, is that everyone is basically jizzin themselves over the guy.
