Oklahoma [13-7 (3-5), RPI: 62, SOS: 47] Could first-year coach Lon Kruger get this seemingly desolate Oklahoma bunch into the NCAA tournament? It's still a long shot. OU's only two top-50 wins came against Kansas State, and while victories over Oral Roberts and Arkansas are nice to have, they aren't going to move the needle for a team that is 3-5 in league play with losses to Oklahoma State and Texas A&M, both of which are ranked outside the the top 100. Still, the fact that this team is even in the conversation is surprising and a credit to the job Kruger has done in his first year in Norman.

Also, LOL at this sentence in KSU's roundup:

Fortunately for Rodney McGruder and Co., there are no more games vs. OU on the schedule.

This is cool to even get mentioned. I'm still thinking NIT, but a mention? In February (almost)? Cool!

The Felton J. the Third stink is almost aired outta the room, methinks

On the women's side, ESPN currently had eight teams in. They are:
Baylor as 1-seed (duh)
Texas A&M as 3-seed
Texas as 10-seed
Texas Tech as 9-seed
OSU as 9-seed
Kansas State as 5-seed
KU as 6-seed

And... OU as an 8-seed at home in Norman :D

 In the same regional as 1-seed Satanford

The two omissions from our pocket-sized conference do not surprise me. Mizzou is 0-fer in the conference and Iowa State has been a shadow of its former self.

That and the Cincy one.

I'll still be happy with an NIT bid.

If we're looking back at the end of the season and saying that Cincy and aTm games kept us out of the tourney, then I'll have to consider it a pretty successful season.

Word. We got screwed at Texas A&M ref-wise and Cincy should have had a better year, if it weren't for their mid-season punchiness.

Don't forget the butt-kicking we took from the Cowpukes.

It wasn't a butt kick. The final score might suggest it, but that's because we were fouling at the end of the game to stop the clock and OSU made its free throws. We could have lost by a single possession, or gone for the win and lost by double digits at GIA. I'm glad we went for the win instead of the feel-good losing score.

I chalk that and the Mizzou debacle to horrible shooting. We didn't hit the broad side of a barn. I'm definitely not saying that we could have beat Mizzou, but we should have been aggy.

I don't understand why OU doesn't follow my formula for success: win the Big XII tournament, win six in a row, and cut the nets down. It's that simple.

Totally... forget the rest of the games, just win the postseason and you're set :P

Usually you have to be one of the 30 to 35 best teams in the country to get in. I'm not sure we are that just yet. I no longer miss games though. I love the brand of basketball we are playing and that's good enough for me. I am no longer embarrassed of our program. Thank God for Lon Kruger.
