That's strange. He's normally quite the vocal leader. :)

I like and agree with the Police Escort that Stills got fromRyan and Jaz did the same thing for Stills until he was hurt. That's the thing I think you'll see change between now and next Season and should we have a WR who can take the heat off Stills again...You will see Landry have the same 4000 plus yards. Also....if we have a 3rd WR that can come in and be a Police Escort instead of a DeJuan Miller (A Police Barricade)....Landry will get Stills back in the hunt for 100 yards a Game. We missed Ryan the second he went out but it didn't really end Landry's production but it did reduce it some and when we got to stoolwater there wasn't anyone to take the heat off Stills and he looked very frustrated.

On the one hand, Stills should be working hard this off-season to be a more dominant player as the absence of Broyles exposed him as maybe not as good as advertised. He has talent to take him a long ways if he can develop past that guy who cleans up the part of the field the #1 guy doesn't.
On the other, it shows that Landry Jones trusted Broyles the way he needs to trust other players. I really don't care if a QB overshoots his targets like in those examples; because the result of trying to throw AT his targets results in injuries or turnovers. Broyles was so good like they said at being right where the ball was delivered, even if he made it there at the last second. That's why the Jones-to-Broyles tandem looked so sharp. Jaz showed flashes of becoming a great downfield guy, but he has to stay healthy. That's not a knock on him, it's the truth for everyone who puts on a helmet. Especially in an area you must see improvement.

IMHO, the OU offense would be a lot better if they could put their nose to the grindstone and gameplan for running the football. Play-action made Sam Bradford a star as a freshman and won Paul Thompson a BIG 12 Championship as sort of a serviceable emergency backup QB. We put way too much on Landry last season after Whaley was hurt. The game for OUr opponents became completely about blitzing the crap out of Landry instead of staying home on a bunch of inconsistent targets. Iglesias, Chaney and Johnson weren't world-beaters in 2006... yet we still went way farther than we would have if we just put every game in PT's hands.

Wow. All the way back to PT? Holy Crap. Nobody was saying crap like that until the end of this year about Landry. I know there were folks who thought he definitely wasn't a Sam Bradford but PT? Landry has won every Bowl Game and if he'd had some help in stoolwater and not make the mistakes in that game....maybe momentum changes like the year before would have taken place and we would have won the Big XII again.

Losing Ryan sucked but I still think that our WR Corp really laid down on Jones.

I think it's really unfair to pour crap all over him too. He's not only a great kid but he's going to be in our records books a very long time. I don't think I wish to see a guy that has bad memories of how bad our fans suck that our Team suffered serious injuries as well as some mental lapses last year and should have only lost one Game or even none in the regular Season. It happened though. I'd rather look to the future than try to compare the past. The Players in the Past are all gone. However...one of our old Coaches is back and supposedly some folks think he's gonna light the fire under this Team. I sure hope they are right. My concern is that he is our Defensive guy. Even though he has experience as a Head Coach...I think he'll have his work cut out for him in just getting the defense to follow his new scheme. Maybe he'll be able to assist on Offense too. He's a heck of a guy just like his Brother Bob.
