While I think he's done some highly questionable things in the banking area (i.e., helping to repeal Glass-Steagall), which ultimately led to the housing meltdown, I do appreciate a lot of what he says. He's not afraid to speak his mind and D.C. needs that sort of thing. I agree he's probably a bit of a slimeball... he's managed to amass about a $5MM fortune while serving as a public employee. That alone is pretty questionable.

Politics aside though, I support his and his partner's right to equal treatment under the law, i.e., the right to marry the consenting partner of his choice.

I'm for gays to be allowed to be married. I also support polygamists right to be married. I don't necessarily agree with their lifestyles, but I don't really care either. Now polygamists shouldn't be allowed anymore writeoffs than the 2 person marriage.

I thought Frank was dating some dude who was high up in Fannie or Freddie. That must have been before 2007. I know there were a lot of questions about his conflicts of interests in that area.

Good for Frank. I still don't like him though. It was a toxic mix of liberalism and radical conservativism that ruined our economy.

Ironically, the liberalism and radical convervativism that failed us didn't always follow party lines. Clinton bought helped deregulate our banks and Bush was happy to push money toward housing and champion our "ownership society."
