Mike was a Head Coach and to many Sooners he might as well have been a Heisman Trophy Winner or a Head Coach that had won a National Championship at OU.

He deserves every penny and more until he proves he's not a difference maker. Unfortunately we weren't able to keep both Coaches that were IMO the difference makers in 2000 as far as our Defense is concerned but I can only guess that we couldn't afford to pay Brent $750,000-1,000,000 when we paid out that to Mike. With Brent gone....Mike definitely was able to get himself a very sweet deal.
