When you look at the big picture, Joe Paterno's life and death is what most people would wish for. 85 years old, and until a few months ago doing what he loved every day, and in reasonably good health. When the end came, his cancer diagnosis came what, 65 days ago?
The scandal is the thing that will be remembered; but to be up on your feet, pursuing your passions for 85 years, then have a 65 day journey toward the end....
Not many people get to live that much life with their faculties sharp, then ease out quickly.
