Hell no! The uber-leftist, corrupt Democrat governor would appoint an equally uber-left, corrupt Democrat. I already have to deal with the Dick Durbin, I don't want another Senator like the Dick Durbin!

No. Both Robert Byrd and Strom Thurmond were in far worse shape, and they died in office, or soon after leaving office. Considering his age and his health, he should make a full recovery. And Senator Tim Johnson had a far more severe brain hemmorage, and made it back to the floor of the Senate under his own power.
