If true, I don't see that going over very well with a bunch of current and former football players.

Oklahoma has set the bar high by slashing their tires.

They have also set the bar high in another way --- offering airtime on an OSU radio station to get them to not picket the plane crash victims (womens basketball coaches and boosters).

So... will Pennsylvania be able to top either of Oklahoma's Westboro bashing or Westboro alternatives?

Personally, I'm hoping they find a way to top the tire slashing... nothing fatal, or violent, but something that makes headlines afterward and makes them forget they ever hated Oklahoma

I've always hoped somebody would completely make their lives as miserable as they've made others. They may have met their match with the State College crazies.

I think they're barking up the wrong tree by doing this... but I've thought that about them going to soldier funerals too... so who knows.

This increases my interest in the funeral 20-fold. Before, I was like "Go ahead and mourn your coach, whatever," and now I'm like "What fun nursery rhyme involving fornicators, homosexuals and heathens will they make up about State College, Pennsylvania?"

Nearer to hell, Nittany Lions

Not to mention other democrats. I've always said you absolutely cannot pin any of Fred Phelps' beliefs on other democrats. There's nothing in the DNC platform that caused him to be the near-sub-human he is. It's his own lack of character and nothing more.

Nah, that doesn't have enough shock value, because Penn State hates him too. That's like having a sign that says "God Hates Hitler." Westboro is all about pizzing people off... and singing it to the tune of a hymn if possible... like... say...

Welcome aboard, hell's chariot

Their site is called godhatesf*gs.com so you have to keep that in mind when I provide links here because sf.com does not allow the word f*gs:

This (http://www.godhatesf*gs.com/fliers/20120122_Joe-Paterno-Funeral-Connecting-The-Dots.pdf) is for Paterno's funeral.

And this (http://www.godhatesf*gs.com/fliers/20111120_OSU-Coaches-Memorial-Radio-Swap.pdf) was the latest on Oklahoma. Like said, a nice radio station owner relieved Stillwater of facing Westboro pickets at the "Remember the 4" funeral and exchanged air time for picket time.

Once again, remove the asterisk from the link if you really want to see those "press releases."

This is how they make money for their church though. Show up in number for outrageous actions at very somber events hoping to instigate a fight and leave the court system to vote in their favor for civil action suits when one of their members gets roughed up.

I like the tire slashing idea... especially when nobody can be found to be at fault. Church members showing up at local tire stores to buy off the shelf tires means good business for the local economy.

Take their windshield wipers while you're at it. Break off a few side view mirrors (those are very expensive). Kick in the front grill. Crack a few taillights... and leave no evidence behind.

Oh man... you never heard the story of Westboro coming to McAlester, did you? :D

Here, let me recap:

1- Westboro arrives in McAlester to protest a Army sergeant's funeral.
2- Westboro returns to its van to find its front and rear passenger's side (the side not facing the road, lol) slashed.
3- Westboro's van hobbles away on two good, two bad tires, with a police car following slowly behind (and I can imagine, a lot of laughing McAlester people)
4- Multiple businesses turned them away, refusing to repair their van, even for thousands of dollars (there were also restaurants that reportedly had up signs that they would not serve Westboro that day).
5- Westboro finally gives up and calls AAA, who hauls them off to Walmart to get repaired.

All you have to do is see pics from the funeral to know that Westboro deserved this 100 percent. The Army sergeant who died left behind a 4-year-old son :(

They came to Bartlesville to protest a soldier's funeral. Crowds were estimated to exceed 10,000 along US-75 and US-60 leading to the church. Hundreds of flags all over the place. The 2 dozen or so protestors left town with a police escort to the city limit an hour before the funeral started. If 10,000 peaceful Bartlesville folks can run them out of town, just think what 100,000 disorderly Nittany Lions fans can do!

This group of publicity seeking jerks should be locked up IMHO and the key thrown away for littering since they nothing but trash. Went to see them go into Happy Valley and see what the cops have to say to them there. Would not be smart to visit State College for this but they will do anything for publicity. What a sorry excuse for human beings! So now they have gone from soldiers to coaches? What a bunch of lowlifes. Hope they lose some more tires.

I believe there was a lengthy BBC documentary on them a few years back that I watched in bits and pieces on YouTube. Obviously, they're all crazy, but what freaked me out was how a lot of them (I think the one I'm thinking of specifically is one of Fred Phelps' daughters) are actually smart. Hateful and ridiculous, but still sharp as tacks. I really felt bad for the granddaughters who were coming of age because they seem relatively normal (and also smart), but will soon have to be a part of the real world.

I don't remember where that happened, but it was not in Kansas. All they had to do was look for the Kansas plates and lo and behold, they couldn't leave their motel to go protest :)

EDIT: It was Mississippi:

A couple of days before, one of them (Westboro protestors) ran his mouth at a Brandon gas station and got his arse waxed. Police were called and the beaten man could not give much of a description of who beat him. When they canvassed the station and spoke to the large crowd that had gathered around, no one seemed to remember anything about what had happened.

Rankin County handled this thing perfectly. There were many things that were put into place that most will never know about and at great expense to the county.

Most of the morons never made it out of their hotel parking lot. It seems that certain Rankin county pickup trucks were parked directly behind any car that had Kansas plates in the hotel parking lot and the drivers mysteriously disappeared until after the funeral was over. Police were called but their wrecker service was running behind and it was going to be a few hours before they could tow the trucks so the Kansas plated cars could get out.

A few made it to the funeral but were ushered away to be questioned about a crime they might have possibly been involved in. Turns out, after a few hours of questioning, that they were not involved and they were allowed to go on about their business.

I remember an episode of that BBC show about cars where they decided to drive rundown cars through SEC country and decorated them beforehand to say things like "HILLARY FOR PRESIDENT" and "MAN ON MAN LOVE OK" and they tried to refuel at a backwoods station... and the lady in charge says "I'm gonna call the boys." That drove those Brits to scram immediately and take the "decoration" off their cars.

There are just certain areas of the country where you can't beat your chest and scream 'FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS' and expect to get away with it.

If God kills 'em, I'm all for it. (Lightning, sudden earthquake, whatever.) But if humans kill 'em, I'm not for it. They don't kill anyone. They just say and believe evil sh*t. I don't believe in killing anyone for their beliefs, or for what they say. I don't mind costing them money (slashing tires) or making them miserable (picketing their houses), but I can't be on board with killing them.

I'm also a little confuzzled by their picketing JoePa. Isn't their entire point with soliders that God is killing soldiers because America is a bunch of sodomites? If God killed JoePa because JoePa was a sodomite, He sure took His sweet time. I mean, JoePa was, what, a hundred and seventy four? If living that long and full a life is your penalty for supporting sodomy, sign me up for the sodomy train, yo.

Er, wait, that didn't sound right...

bpHTP7mmJTE
gmWkIAwqc3g

I think all of the cheering at the end of that last clip was because the crowd saw Westboro driving off with two flats... or maybe it was just because they were leaving :D

In addition to Mississippi's pwning, Nebraska also has an anti-Westboro law that they have unsuccessfully tried to circumvent that disallows the desecration of the American flag. The Phelps daughter was arrested in Nebraska because her son was walking on the flag and she wore it upsidedown as a sash or something... I don't remember the details.

In fact, we might want to contact AAA and let them know how disappointed we are tha they towed and helped one of the scummiest bunches of sleazy slime currently sharing air with the rest of us here in this country. Most businesses have the legal right to refuse a customer if they choose to refuse that customer, don't they?

I'm assuming that if they paid for AAA membership then AAA would be required to service them. You can't take money and then refuse to provide the service. If they wanted to refuse service then they'd have to refuse membership.

Michael Moore and I have vastly different political ideologies, but he did once bring a pink busload of openly gay people to a few Westboro sites (including their home base in Topeka), which really maked Daddy Phelps fume :D

As much as I smirk at their misfortunes, I do have some pity for the minions of that cult. Phelps basically rules with an iron fist and if they rest don't fall in line, they get excommunicated, so they are all, from a very early age, under serious pressure to picket and hold the swastika/f**/anti-military signs up.
