Garrett Hartley is still on the Saints roster but injured.

Reggie Smith is on the niners as a backup Strong Safety

That was a bad Helmet to Helmet hit. Unbelievable that Thomas got up. There will be an entire game of head hunting in this one. Both players are headed to the locker room after that.

All year I felt that SF was a bit overrated as they had a weak schedule I thought, but this defense can definitely bring the pain. This is a great match up against the Saints offense

T-Blown.

Not sure he's not an NFL QB as there sure were a bunch of QBs that didn't make the Playoffs but he damn sure isn't an Elite QB like the Media was blowing it of proportion. He just got lucky and won some games against some Teams that weren't have a great Season like they had before. He's probably going to really have some Defenses come at him next year.

CowboyMRW
1/15/2012, 12:28 AM

1. It's the year of the TE. The list is loooooooong.

2. Tebow won't become a long term solution unless he changes his mechanics. And I love the guy.

3. I love the NFL. It is the premier form of sports entertainment out there. I love my Sooners, too, but college football is sick and needs fixin'.

I'm not sure I follow...

College Football hasn't ever pleased every Fan so it must have always been broke per your diagnosis.

Since it was College Football that led to there being an NCAA and then a NFL....I find it hard to believe that it all has aids as you say. It's been the reason the NFL was formed. Now folks want to change the College Game because they prefer the way the NFL makes the rules?

The thing is....leave the College Game alone. It's producing better rule changes and ideas than the NFL.

Support the Mythical National Championship over the idea that something is broke and needs to be fixed. You'll regret what happens if you don't.

Also something about both Harbaugh's. Both have very good defenses. Both have excellent RB's. Flacco I would say is slightly better than Smith. Boldin will be the best WR on the field but Vernon Davis is a manchild at TE. These teams match up so well it's ridiculous.

I don't know how Coughlin does it, but when he gets in the playoffs, he turns it up a notch.

I agree and I think the answer is to just accept that it's going to happen every now and then instead of destroy CFB and the wonderful tradition of the Bowl Season. The BCS has already hurt it enough and now if we allow them or ESPN to continue to make changes....it will be done as a way to line their pockets and take control/power from the folks who have for years protected CFB from having 32 Teams that are always in the loop for playing in a MNC. As it is now we have 120 Schools who all compete and even play the big Schools and if they continue to beat good Teams they get offers to better Conferences.

Take a look at South Florida or TCU or UCF. They all started winning some big games and they got invites to not only decent Conferences but some moved into better Conferences.

It's a better way to handle it all by letting things progress in a slow manner over years instead of making knee jerk reaction changes because you didn't like the outcome this year.

ESPN is becoming much too powerful IMO. They have way too much influence over the BCS, and it is only going to get worse. A playoff is the only way to minimize their power. For the record, though I love bowl season. Minus March Madness, it's my favorite time of the year.
