MONDAY'S GAME BASICS
Oklahoma (10-4, 0-2) looks to snap its first losing streak of the season when it plays at Oklahoma State (8-7, 1-1) Monday at 6 p.m. CT. The Sooners have lost two in a row to start Big 12 Conference play, including a 72-61 home defeat at the hands of No. 14 Kansas on Saturday. The Cowboys have lost five of their last seven games and are coming off a 58-49 setback at Texas Saturday. Monday’s contest will air on the Sooner Radio Network (KOKC AM 1520 in Oklahoma City; KTBZ AM 1430 in Tulsa) with Toby Rowland and Mike Houck announcing. The game will be televised by ESPNU with Dave Flemming and Sean Farnham calling the action.

I was about to start this thread. As you said, we really need to win this game to ease the pain. I think we get it done and win by 5-10 points. Look for Pledger to get out of his slump.

It isn't just the mens team that needs this win. All of OU needs this win tonight.

Men's team nearly got a signature win at home against KU, only for our first half lead to get blown badly in the second half.

Women's team nearly got a signature win on the road at College Station, only for our first half lead to get blown badly in the second half.

We don't need to give Stilly another excuse to rush any athletic surfaces, lest they injure themselves in post-OU win celebration again.

And we don't need badger to lose another Bedl@m bet :mad:

Yea, KU was not a game I was expecting to win so I was surprised by such a good effort in the first half.

Anyhow, With KSU coming in next weekend, I would like to avoid an 0-4 start. We've had a tough start to the conf schedule and we will get some easier games coming up (TT home and A&M road) but then it follows with Baylor at home, and trips to both KU and KSU. I hate to say it but 3-6 after that would be nice.

I fully expect us to win tonight in front of 6000 sorta-fans that are to busy thinking about the days before OSU was a football school.

holy crap...10 pts down...what has happened from the first 10 games...I know our competition wasn't the best but not any worse than osu's...or osu in general...I need to rethink my season record...I was thinking we could go 18/10...but that was going undefeated in non-con....I'm hoping can go .500 overall now...not because of 1 game but the last 4 we have really struggled offensively and defensively...

This team just forgot how to make baskets or play inside defense. As bad as we played, OSU isn't playing well either. If we get our shots to start falling then we will be right back in it.

Our defense is terrible. All they have to do is set a screen then run straight at the basket when we over play it. Rotation is terrible.

And notice how OSU finds a way to get Page some shots? We aren't even attempting to get Pledger going.

I've been negative as well...good thing I can't watch it, my bp would be out the top! LOL...ah well, I've tried to take a "just enjoy the effort" approach, but when guys can't defend the pick/roll or pick/pop at the D1 level not much enjoying the effort there...ah well...baseball season soon? course with the way Sooner athletics has gone this yr that might be a bust as well...(expectations vs results)

I always try to put a positive spin on looking ahead to next game towards the end there, but lately its getting difficult. Beating the Wildcats could be a huge confidence booster though.

This isn't going to change. Kruger can't make them do things they are not physically capable of doing.

The only "drama" left in this season is whether or not they can gut out 6-7 wins in conference which would then give them a shot at the NIT- which would be a success with this talent.

OSU sucks bad. Really bad. And they best us fairly easily tonight. We played hard, but these kids just can't compete consistently at this level. Pretty clear to me that Kruger can coach.. He just needs more to work with.

I also went almost vBroke on that game unfortunately... then went completely vBroke after posting the NFL games... so hopefully at least one of these teams will come through for me before this weekend so I can vBet more on the Packers :(
