Big game for our boys this afternoon as we welcome in #14 Kansas.

We are coming off of a buttwoopin by Mizzou and KU is coming in after a 67-49 win over KSU.


SATURDAY'S GAME BASICS
Oklahoma (10-3, 0-1) plays its Big 12 Conference home opener Saturday at 1 p.m. CT when Kansas (11-3, 1-0) visits Lloyd Noble Center. The Sooners, who lost 87-49 at No. 7 Missouri on Tuesday, are 7-0 at home this season. The No. 14/15 Jayhawks, are coming off a 67-49 home win over Kansas State on Wednesday. Saturday’s contest will air on the Sooner Radio Network (KOKC AM 1520 in Oklahoma City; KTBZ AM 1430 in Tulsa; Sirius 92; XM 194) with Toby Rowland and Mike Houck announcing. The game will be televised by ESPNU with Dave Flemming and Fran Fraschilla calling the action.

It's not going to be easy..but this would be a nice win if we could somehow pull it off.

If you need any confirmation of how sick the OU basketball program just go to an OU/KU game in Norman like I did today. Back in the day the place was rocking for KU and only a few KU fans could get lucky and get tickets. Today was not rocking and KU fans probably represented about 35% of the crowd today. Really it is sad...

Compared to other crowds this year I thought it looked pretty good and sounded loud early.

yea the crowd was one of the first things i noticed on TV. I was disappointed there wasn't more there, but then again, watching a game at the LNC has become very retro.

We really need a hoops only arena, but it's wishful thinking.

The KU game was once the high point of the home schedule. Sometimes Mizzou would bring a higher ranked ( and dirty) team or a great noncom team like UNLV would be the big game but year in/year out in the 80s/early 90s it was KU. Very disappointing but understandable at this point in the the rebuilding process that fans have not filled it up yet. Today would have been a good time for an SRO 100+degree home crowd a la the Billy Tubbs days. Kruger will get us there, just gotta roll in a few more big recruits. We are playing way better than I expected already this year.

Going to this game would've meant giving up about a week of vacation for most students. After the showing against Mizzou, I don't really blame the student's for their choice. Hopefully we don't get a home game against a team like Kansas during break next year.
