And will it ever happen again?
Illinois became the first team to go bowling after a regular season-ending 6-game losing streak, statistically difficult but certainly something that could occur again (and what a thing to behold, 6-0 to start the season, 0-6 to finish!).
But UCLA's 6-8 record has to be well, a record.
I don't know if the bowl officials used the tagline that both teams were hungry for a win to promote the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl but I did read this about it:
The game, which is sponsored by Kraft, generated three meals for local food banks for each of the 29,878 tickets sold. Officials used an Oreo cookie for the opening coin toss.
No word on whether anyone ate the cookie after the toss . . .
